As Henry navigates the historically accurate 15th-century Kingdom of Bohemia, some side quests are worth tackling sooner rather than later.
These early quests can reward players with a free horse (if you make the right choices), a loyal four-legged friend, and special combat moves that will give you an edge in the game’s notoriously challenging battles. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!
8Mutt
Dick Dastardly and Muttley
Good old lovableMutt, the loyal pup fromKingdom Come: Deliverance’s DLC,A Woman’s Lot. Iffinding Henry’s dogafter losing him in the tutorial isn’t a player’s first priority, they should feel deeply ashamed.
Once players venture into the game’s first open-world area, they’ll have the chance to reunite with their furry best friend. But be warned—this isn’t a quick quest. Tracking down the last few people who saw Mutt can take time. However, it’s well worth the effort, as having Mutt as your sidekick can be pretty game-changing. Those wanting to find their pup more organically might want to skip the next entry.
7Lackey
A Nudge in the Right Direction
To help players reunite with Mutt, they’ll first need to head west of Tachov and find the NPC Ziata near her farm. She’ll ask players to track down her missing husband, who was last seen hunting in the woods.
While this side quest isn’t particularly lucrative, it does allow players to speak with Vostatek, one of the few people who knows Mutt’s whereabouts. He’ll point players in the right direction. Plus, during the course of the quest, players will likely collect plenty of wolf meat—perfect for keeping Mutt happy once they’re back together.
6The Blacksmith’s Son
He Ain’t No Fortunate Son
While this list is primarily about side quests, players will need to progress through the main quest “Wedding Crashers” to unlock access to them. One of the earliest side quests unlocked from here is “The Blacksmith’s Son,” which can be triggered by speaking to Radovan in Tachov, northwest of Troskowitz.
Though more of a glorified tutorial than a traditional side quest, it teaches playershow to use a forgeto smith weapons, tools, and other useful items. The system is a fantastic addition to the sequel, offering a rewarding and practical gameplay mechanic. Plus, Radovan serves as a gateway to even greater rewards, as highlighted in the next entry.
5The Jaunt
A Perfect Jaunting Pair
After completing “The Blacksmith’s Son,” Radovan will ask players to investigate the disappearance of his cart, cargo, and—apparently less importantly—the crew that vanished en route to Semine. It’s a rewarding quest that offers players the chance to explore Semine and grants a valuable early-game reward: the Rusty Sheet Cuirass. But let’s be real—that’s not why we’re here.
We’re here for Pebbles, the beloved horse from the first game, cruelly taken from Henry at the beginning of this sequel. During the side quest, players will encounter Lord Semine. Inquire about borrowing a horse, and he’ll direct you to the nearby stables.To reclaim Pebbles, players must convince the Stable Seller through Intimidation, Charisma, or the good old-fashioned method of parting with their hard-earned cash.
4Frogs
A Plague of Frogs and Pranks
For players eager to earn a tidy profit of Groschen and a chance to commit some tomfoolery near the start of the game, the side quest “Frogs” is a must—but it comes at the expense of their reputation in Tachov.
To begin the quest, players should seek out Old Olbram in Zhelejov, not far from the tutorial’s conclusion. While we won’t spoil the details, expect some mischievous antics and a few disgruntled townsfolk. Upon completion, players can escalate the madness with the “Mice” side quest, which ultimately leads to one of the game’s best and wildest adventures: the “Battle of the Frogs and Mice.”

Tis But A Scratch
After completing the main quest “Laboratores,” players should chat with Bara, who will mention a fascinating showman named Tomcat. Once all relevant dialogue options are exhausted, the next stop is the Nomad Camp, located northwest of Semine.
There, players will meet Master Tomcat, who turns out to be far more than just an entertainer—he’s a swordmaster extraordinaire. Speak to him to trigger the quest, and he’ll show players the way of the blade, includingsome neat tricksand how to perform advanced combos. But that’s not all…
2Combat Training II
A Scratch? Your Arm’s Off!
Complete Tomcat’s first quest and players will gain access to part two. Here, he’ll teach Henry how to use theMaster Strike, one of the game’s most essential and powerful combat mechanics. Essentially a devastating counterattack, it can be triggered after performing a perfect block—making it a game-changer in heated battles.
However, mastering this technique won’t come easy. Players must defeat Tomcat in the arena, which can be quite the challenge in the early game. For those struggling, there’s good news: players can repeatedly practice with Tomcat, allowing them to level up their combat skills and improve their chances of kicking his butt.
1Miri Fajta
Horses, Fists, and Die
Now that players are efficient at using the pointy end of a sword, they should speak to Voivode at the Nomad Camp to start the “Miri Fajta” side quest. While it may seem like another typical missing-person quest at first, it actually introduces some of the game’s more interesting mechanics, including horse riding, fist fighting, anddice competitions.
The quest also takes players on a journey across multiple locations, giving them a chance to meet new characters who come with their own unique side quests. On top of that, the story behind “Miri Fajta” is one of the early game’s most exciting.
