Summary

Kingdom Come: Deliverancehas some ofthe best first-person melee combat in gaming, with a wide selection of shortswords, longswords, maces, and axes for players to find and improve their skills with. Each of these different weapon styles has its strengths and weaknesses, so Henry should travel with multiple weapon types so he’s prepared for any encounter.

The effectiveness of each weapon greatly depends onhow high Henry’s combat skills are, but the Polearms and Spears aren’t affected by Henry’s combat skills, which can make some of them incredibly strong right from the start. The Polearms and Spears inKingdom Come: Deliverancecan’t be held in the inventory, so they must be picked up from enemies after combat, and will be dropped after some time or when Henry equips something else. If a player does get their hands on one of these weapons, and has enough Strength to wield it, they can give Henry a serious advantage in combat.

10Reforged Scythe

A Peasant Weapon with Some Added Punch

The reforged scythe is exactly as described, it’s a farming tool that has been modified to be easier to use in combat. The reforged scythe can be found on the low-level Bandits that will occasionally ambush Henry when fast-traveling.

Despite its humble appearance, the Reforged Scythe is a powerful weapon thanks to its larger range than Longswords. It also requires less strength to wield, but most Longswords have better damage overall.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Glaive Screenshot

Like a Longsword on a Big Stick

Similar in appearance to the Reforged Scythe, the Glaive is a purpose-made Polearm/Spear that is on par with the strongest Longswords in the game, while having better range and only requiring 5 Strength for Henry to wield it. It can be found on Bandits and Guards.

The Glaive has identical stab and slashing damage, so the left-click and right-click attacks will do the same damage to enemies. The Glaive is better than the Reforged Scythe but lacks blunt damage so it will struggle against heavily-armored enemies.

Sweep Your Enemies Away

The Bardiche roughly matches the damage ofthe best Longswords inKingdom Come: Deliverance, while having a much better range and requiring less Strength to wield. Players can occasionally find a Bardiche on Bandits but otherwise, will have to take out a guard to get one. Cumans don’t use the Bardiche.

The Bardiche has good Stab and Slash damage, but has surprisingly high Blunt damage too, making it efficient at taking out light and heavy-armored enemies. Like all the Polearms and spears, the Bardiche is also excellentwhen fighting on horseback.

Funny Name, Serious Damage

The Italian Bill is another stab/slash-based Polearm inKingdom Come: Deliverance. It can be found on Bandits, either when they ambush Henry or when they are camped, and some guards carry them too. Cumans also don’t carry the Italian Bill.

The Italian Bill is essentially a stronger version of the Glaive, with the same Blunt damage and slightly higher Stab/Slash damage stats of 79. It also requires just 6 strength to wield, so does far more damage than a Longsword that Henry could wield with the same Strength level.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Guisarme Screenshot

6Guisarme

Looks Deadly, Is Deadly

The Guisarme is a Polearm with additional hooks and spikes, that can one-shot enemies in mounted combat while only requiring 7 strength for Henry to wield it. Like other Polearms and Spears, the Guisarme can be found on Bandits, Guards, but also on Cumans.

The Guisarme has a massive 105 Stab damage, and a solid slash damage of 75 which will effectively clear out enemies when not on horseback. It does severely lack blunt damage, however, so heavily armored enemies will be an issue when Henry isn’t on his horse.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Spear Screenshot

5Spear

Stabbing Things Since the Stone Age

The Spear is one of the most used melee weapons ever, letting combatants strike lethal damage before a sword user could get close. It’s the same story inKingdom Come: Deliverance, with excellent Stab damage that can take out a lightly armored opponent quickly.

The Spear has lower Slash and Blunt damage than other Polearms, so it is less effective at thinning out large groups and requires a strength of 9 to wield. It can be found on Bandits, Guards, and Cumans.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Bohemian Earspoon Screenshot

4Bohemian Earspoon

More Dangerous Than It Sounds

The Bohemian Earspoon gets its name from the two lugs that protrude below the point, which prevents it from piercing an enemy too deeply so it can be removed quickly. This is reflected in the Earspoon’s high stab damage, but it also excels in Slashing damage and has impressive blunt damage too.

The Bohemian Earspoon can be found at the entrance of Skalitz, around 50 meters on the left, and is also used by Bandits and Guards, but not Cumans.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Hunting Spear Screenshot

3Hunting Spear

Turn Anything Into Prey

TheHunting Spear is an improved version of the Spearand has the most amount of Stab damage inKingdom Come: Deliveranceoutright. It requires 11 strength to wield and will make light work of any enemy whether Henry is on a horse or not and regardless of their armor.

The Hunting spear, surprisingly, is found on the lower level, ambushing Bandits that also carry the Reforged Scythe, so itcan be found early in the game. It does lack Slash and Blunt damage, so other Polearms are better than it overall.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Lucerne Hammer Screenshot

2Lucerne Hammer

Armor Is Irrelevant

Thanks to its huge Blunt damage, the Lucerne Hammer is one of the best Polearms and one of the best weapons in the game. It is over 50% more powerful thanthe best hammers inKingdom Come: Deliverance,so it is the best weapon to use against enemies with Plate armor.

The Lucerne hammer has lower Stab damage than most polearms and awful Slash damage, but those won’t matter because it can do so much blunt damage. The Lucerne Hammer can be found on Bandits and Guards, but not on Cumans.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Halberd Screenshot

1Halberd

The Best Polearm in the Game

The Halberd would be the best weapon inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2if Henry was allowed to keep it in his inventory. It has almost double the Slash and Stab damage of the most powerful swords while having a long reach and still a decent amount of Blunt damage to get through armor.

Henry can’t sprint while using the Halberd, which is the case for all the Polearms, andthey don’t have any combos or perks available. The Halberd also needs 14 strength to wield, but if a player has leveled Henry enough, they can stand and deliver heavy damage with it. The Halberd can be found on Bandits and Guards, and there are also two in the Pirkenstein guard tower in Rattay.

To get Henry to drop a Polearm he has picked up, press the key or button used to draw the regular weapon he already has equipped.
