Offering Crystals are special collectibles inLuma Islandthat you’re able to grab and use to unlock shrines in the different biomes of the game. Behind these shrines are an array of rewards you really want to get your hands on, ranging fromLuma Eggsto Ancient Books, but finding the crystals can be a serious challenge.
This is particularly true when you get to later stagebiomes like the Mountain, which has many of its crystals hidden along cliff faces and in corners. It’s not immediately obvious how to get to these areas, either, so you may spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to pick up the eight you need to open the shrine. Not to worry, though, because here are the locations where you can find the crystals in the Mountain biome.
Mountain Offering Crystal #1 Location
To find the first Mountain Offering Crystal inLuma Island, you need to head west and toward the ponds where you can findIce Eels. Follow the path, but if you find an Ancient Temple, you’ve gone too far. Instead, you’ll be looking for asmall alcovethat’s hidden behind some bushes you can actually walk through.
Once you go through the bushes, you’ll find a small entrance that leads down a pathway into the rocks. The Mountain Crystal can be found at the end of this pathway.
If you need another indicator of where to find the entrance, you’re able to start at the Ancient Temple in this area and backtrack while hugging the wall of the Mountain, and you should find it.
Mountain Offering Crystal #2 Location
For the next one, you’ll have to head all the way back to the entrance of the Mountain. Headeast from the entrancetoward the pondswhere you can fish for Granite Groupers. Just before you reach these ponds, you’ll find an alternate pathway leading down to the cliffside.
The start of the pathway isn’t clear at first, so you’ll need to just walk toward the very edge of the Mountain to see where you need to go. Follow this pathway to claim the Mountain Offering Crystal hidden in a small cave at the end of it.
Mountain Offering Crystal #3 Location
Continue on this eastern path past the Granite Grouper ponds andpast the Dying Flower puzzle. Instead of going up into the Mountain, though, look for asmall makeshift campat the end of it. It should be just along the cliff face and opposite a broken bridge that leads to a chest. you’re able to find the Mountain Offering Crystal justunderneath this camp.
To get to it, you’ll need to smash the crate next to the little tent and follow the pathway from that side. You’ll be able to grab the Crystal at the end of this pathway.
Mountain Offering Crystal #4 Location
Now it’s time to start making your way up the Mountain, because the remaining Crystals are higher up this snowy region. To find the third Crystal, you’ll need to make your way up from the makeshift camp and look for an Ancient Temple. There’s usually anaggressive snowmanin front of this temple, and you can either just pass it or take it down so it stops throwing snowballs at you.
Go a little past the Temple and look for a snowy hill. Climb onto this snowy hill, and you should see a small rock just on the other side that you can mine. Get rid of the rock and enter the new pathway that’s presented, and you should find the Crystal at the end of this path.
Mountain Offering Crystal #5 Location
The next Crystal can be found not too far from the last. Continue following the path until you reach an area that has a ton of snowmen throwing their snowballs at you and a chest enclosed in some broken-down walls in the middle.
To find the Mountain Offering Crystal here, you’ll need to look for a pathway that will lead youdown to the cliffs. You can find the start of this pathway near a cluster of trees with ablue crystal statuenearby. Continue following this path, and you will end up at the bottom of the cliffs where this crystal can be picked up.
Mountain Offering Crystal #6 Location
For the next Mountain Crystal, you need to travel quite a bit further up toward the peak. You’re going to pass Rolling Snowballs and thefast travel point in the Mountainbefore you get there. Specifically, you need tolook for the Talking Stonein this area. Walk around the Talking Stone puzzle, and you’ll find a snowman throwing his snowballs at you at the top of a small cliff.
Just past this snowman is a large rock on the wall of the Mountain. Mine down this rock, and you’ll reveal a new pathway underneath and deeper into the cliff face. At the end of the pathway is the sixth Mountain Offering Crystal.
Mountain Offering Crystal #7 Location
Finding the next Mountain Offering Crystal involves solving a few puzzles and going past the next Ancient Temple. You’ll need to navigate across multiple areas that haveRolling SnowballsandSwirling Ice puzzles, but you need to stop when you reach a pillar with a blue switch on the top of it (in other words,the last pillar when you chase the Grouse to her nest). The area is also just past two bridges you need to repair in order to move forward, if you’re looking for another indicator.
Near this pillar is another rock you can mine on the face of the Mountain. Like before, once you have mined the rock, a new path will be revealed, and you can follow it deeper into the Mountain to find the seventh Crystal.
Mountain Offering Crystal #8 Location
It’s not much further up until you reach the top of the Mountain, which you need to do in order to reach the final Crystal. Navigate around theRolling Snowballsuntil you get to a makeshift camp, but don’t stop here. Instead, headinside the caveat the very end of the pathway.
Inside the cave, you’ll see a ladder you can lower to get to another level. Go down this ladder, and look for the Crystalhidden in a smaller alcoveopposite an alternative entrance to the cave. You should see it immediately by just looking around a bit. With that, you’ll have found the last Crystal you need to open the shrine in the Mountain.
How To Use Mountain Offering Crystals
You need to use Mountain Offering Crystalson the pedestals in front of the Mountain Shrine, which can be found in the same area where you found the first Crystal. In fact, the first Crystal is fairly close to the Shrine, so you may have passed it on your way to getting the collectible.
Either way, you can find the Shrine along the same path you need to follow to the first Ancient Templewhere you can find Frozen Tablet A. Once you’re there, simply insert the Crystals in the pedestals, and it will open for you. Behind the dooryou’ll be able to find a Luma Egg, an Ancient Book, and other rewards which you can use for crafting and selling inLuma Island.
