Smite 2retains the same characteristics as the first game, pitting players in 5v5 matches where they take control of characters inspired by the histories and mythologies from around the globe.Smite 2’s rosterranges from popular names from the Greek pantheon such as Athena, Ares, and Zeus, to important names from Chinese culture such as Mulan, Nu Wa, and Jing Wei. Matches continue to be played in the third person, resulting in a unique MOBA experience reminiscent of today’s popular hero shooters. Now,Smite 2has unveiled a new wave of content to keep players engaged.

ThisSmite 2update introduces some new characters to the roster along with a wide-ranging list of balancing changes. One of the highlights of the patch is the addition of Vulcan as a new playable character and the announcement of Hun Batz’s debut on February 3. Veteran players will notice that both gods arecharacters from the originalSmitecast; Hun Batz comes from the Mayan pantheon and is an assassin who deals physical damage. Meanwhile, Vulcan is a mage from the Roman pantheon with a strong emphasis on area damage. As for the gods already present in the game, Titan Forge has added new skins including Danzaburou Party Animal, Khepri Living Brain, Aphrodite KissMeXOXO, and Cyber Geisha Izanami.

A much-needed improvement arriving with this update will help color-blindSmite 2players better visualize health bars and mini-map colors. Additionally, players can now mark their favorite gods to appear at the top of the list. Titan Forge has also added the new Aspects of Fortification, Disruption, Prey, and Reverberation, which respectively belong to Vulcan, Hun Batz, Sobek, and Ares. Other characters such as Hades, Mordred, and Chaac have received a few bug fixes. A new balance pass included with this update brings several nerfs to gods such as Medusa, Thanatos, Hecate, and Aladdin—one of themost recent characters added toSmite 2.

Smite 2is now free-to-play, so fans can hop in right now and check out the new gods with this update. According to the developers, the MOBA doesn’t have a specified date for leaving Early Access, although they say the game will be in this open beta state “at least until early 2025.” Additionally, Titan Forge promises major monthly updates to add fan-favorite gods, new content, and adjustments based on community feedback.
