Summary
Nintendo fans have noticed that Rosalina appears to be driving a unique vehicle in the newMario KartSwitch 2 game. While Nintendo finally announced the Switch 2 with a video demonstrating some of its differences from its predecessor, it didn’t have much to say regarding games, except for showing off aMario Kartgame for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo hasn’t had an easy time keeping the Switch 2 secret, with leaks arriving practically every day for quite some time. Nintendo’s new video demonstrates some key changes between the models, like the Switch 2 having a bigger screen, but it also raises new questions, like what will make theMario Kartgame arriving on Switch 2 unique.

Nintendo players have been scouring the official footage for any glimpses or clues as to what the future will hold, and fans have pointed out that Rosalina is driving a unique vehicle in the brief teaser: a snowmobile. While only shown for a few moments, the blue, yellow, and orange snowmobile has a flattened tire shape in the back and is equipped with skis in the front, which would help it with gliding across snow. It bears a resemblance to thesnow skimmer fromMario Kart Tour, the mobile variant of the game, but the two aren’t identical.
Switch 2 Mario Kart Has to Set Itself Apart
Gamers are curious about the presence of the new snowmobile, as well as the overall look of the newMario Karttitle. TheNintendo Switch 2 has advertised that it will be backward compatiblewith many Nintendo Switch games, and the Switch’sMario Kart 8 Deluxeis a reduxed version of a Wii U game, so it’s arguably time for an upgrade to an entirely new title. However, the game will have to do something to set itself apart from its extremely popular predecessor. Introducing new vehicles and characters is something many would like to see.
WhileMario Kart 8 Deluxebrought in many courses from across the franchise and even added new drivers via the Booster Course Pass, there’s still some untapped potential to bring in more elements of the mobile game. Players have also speculated looking at the karts that customization may be minimized or entirely done away with, which would certainly be achange fromMario Kart 8 Deluxe. With so little footage to go off of, though, it’s wise to not make assumptions regarding the game until Nintendo is ready to show more. Default karts may have simply been chosen for the brief video.
