Since launching in early December 2024,Marvel Rivalshas continuously added new content that players have adored. From new characters to mini-games, the variety of the new content has also deepened the game’s lore. However, the most loved additions toMarvel Rivalssince launch likely aren’t its new game modes or story expansions, but its new skins.
From holiday and event based skins tocostumes inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all playableMarvel Rivalscharacters have at least one costume. The anticipation for new cosmetics for characters is obviously huge in theMarvel Rivalscommunity, as leaks and speculation over upcoming skins are some of the hottest topics in the playerbase.
Leaked Marvel Rivals Vanguard Skins
FiveVanguard skins have been leaked forMarvel Rivals. However, the release date for these skins is unknown, but are speculated to release sometime in Season 1.
Hulk
“Wasteland Hulk,” also referenced as “Punk Hulk”, does not seem to be a comic-based skin, meaning it may lead to a “Wasteland” or “Punk” collection. Bruce Banner sports a neon green mohawk, a purple vest with painted splotches, various tattoos, and pants that would make any emo kid from the mid-2000’s jealous. This theme continues into his Hulk transformation, where he keeps the same pants as Bruce Banner, but breaks out in black porcupine-like quills across his body. The leaked gameplay video of the Wasteland Hulk skin shows these first two forms on full display, but no details about the final form of this costume have been revealed.
Groot
The“Rusted Groot” skinis yet another skin that leaked with gameplay footage. Unlike his usual exterior, this version of Groot has bark like a redwood tree. Barbed wire wraps around his arms, legs, and waist, with purple fabric also draped across him. Rusted Groot also has a purple lantern hanging off his hip. There seems to be a phrase carved into Rusted Groot’s left arm, though the exact letters are a bit difficult to make out in the video.
Doctor Strange
The“Zombie Strange” skinis yet anothernew costume forMarvel Rivalsthat features a gameplay leak. This skin is seemingly inspired by one of his looks inMultiverse of Madness. If true, Zombie Strange would be the first MCU skin that Doctor Strange receives.
Peni Parker
Peni Parker will likely receive a skin based on incredible art byMarvel Comics artist Peach Momoko. Gameplay for a Spider-Man design by Peach Momoko, with the same Japanese inspiration and color palette as this Peni Parker concept design, has been leaked forMarvel Rivals. Since an officialMarvel Rivalsaccount reposted the Spider-Man and Peni Parker artwork, there’s a solid chance this Yokai inspired Peni costume will make its way intoMarvel Rivalsat some point.
Venom
It seems that Venom may be receiving another comic-based skin, as a design similar toAgent Venomhas been leaked for the character. Though gameplay for the costume was not leaked, images were posted by prominent leaker RivalsInfo on X. Some players are disappointed that Agent Venom may be a costume rather than a playable character, as Agent Venom has his own unique skill set.
Leaked Marvel Rivals Duelist Skins
NineDuelist skins have been leaked forMarvel Rivals, with no release date announced or alleged by any of their leakers. However, these skins are once again speculated to be added in Season 1.
Magik
Gameplayfootage of a new Magik skinwas once again shown off by the prominent leaker, RivalsInfo. This version of Magik has long white hair divided into two large pigtails, with bangs that cover her eyes completely. Similar to the Amethyst Armor reskin of her default costume, this outfit is a deep purple, but features a skirt instead.
Scarlet Witch
Aclassic Scarlet Witch skinwas also leaked, though the model appears unfinished. Though the costume is not colored, the design is clearly a nod to the original Scarlet Witch designs in the comics, which fans may also recognize from the Halloween episode ofWandaVision.
Squirrel Girl
Images of a “Punk Squirrel Girl” have also been leaked. Based on the Hulk skin, there’s a chance the costume name may be “Wasteland Squirrel Girl”, though the title has not received its own leak yet. ThisSquirrel Girlhas purple fur, spiky hair, and spiky pink and purple clothes. Tippy-Toe has also received a slight makeover as well.
Moon Knight
Moon Knightwill finally receive a proper MCU skin, which will seemingly be named “Temple Priest Moon Knight.” Images for the costume have leaked, but no gameplay footage.
Spider-Man
Spider-Punk was available inMarvel Rivals’ beta and will seemingly be added to the game sometime soon. In addition to the Spider-Punk skin, the aforementionedJapanese-inspired skin by Peach Momokowill likely make its way to the game sometime soon. Gameplay has leaked for this Spider-Man costume specifically.
Iron Man and Black Widow
The 1872 skin collection will allegedly receive two new additions, with Black Widow and Iron Man. Rather than a steampunk design, this Black Widow skin leans more into the cowgirl aesthetic with the sniper decked out in cowprint, a wide-brimmed hat with her logo, and cowboy boots. The 1872Iron Man skinwas available in the beta, making its addition seem close.
Black Panther
The last addition to the Gothic Recursion collection will beBlack Panther. Keen-eyed players can spot the King of Wakanda in the new costume on a Gallery Card. Other characters in the image already have Gothic Recursion skins in the game, with Psylocke and Winter Soldier’s versions slated to joinMarvel Rivalson January 31. Based on this timeline, Black Panther’s look will likely be released soon.
Leaked Marvel Rivals Strategist Skins
Two strategists haveleaked skins inMarvel Rivals. Once again, no release dates have been alleged, but many players are speculating a Season 1 addition.
Loki
President Loki is yet another skin that was present in the beta. With other beta skinsspeculated to joinMarvel Rivalsrelatively soon, players and leakers are expecting President Loki to hit the game as well.
Cloak and Dagger
RivalsLeaks also showed off images of aCloak and Daggerskin. The name of the costume is up to debate, with the Chinese translation of the title being either Twin Dance Partners or Twin Companions. Cloak wears a white hood and cape, with a fur-like ruff surrounding his neck and gold accents. Dagger is fitted into a black and purple bodysuit, with gold accents and jewelry as well.
It’s clear that NetEase is hard at work makingnew costumes forMarvel Rivals. While every leak should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s still exciting to get a sneak peek at what skins may make their way intoMarvel Rivals.
