Summary

Each character that fans can play inMarvel Rivalshas unique attributes they bring to their team. Spider-Mandives on the back line,Peni rigs the objective with explosives, and Iron Man drops firepower on the entire team from above. Iron Man is regarded as one of the easier heroes to play inMarvel Rivals, yet remains a welcome DPS in any group, especially when his team-ups are utilized.

When Iron Man is partnered up with teammates that synergize well, the team’s damage output and pressure will overpower the enemy squad. While fighting alongside such heroes, those who play Iron Man must remain vigilant about their locations, teammates' locations, and the enemies' locations, so Tony can provide the best damage possible.

Marvel Rivals leak claims Gambit, Rogue, and Jubilee are coming to the game.

10Storm

Damage Boosts and Consistent Front-Line Damage

After the first official patch was released with Season 1 ofMarvel Rivals, Storm instantly became one of thebest damage charactersin the hero-shooter game. Not only can she overwhelm enemies on her own with her damage, but she can also boost her allies' damage as well.

Iron Man is one of the best DPS heroes for this boost. He can keep up with Storm’s location in the air, focusing on keeping Storm’s damage buff in his vicinity. The two heroes provide incredible damage to the front line, which is a great feat for such team compositions.

Healing and Damage Buff

Some of the Duelist heroes inMarvel Rivalsprove difficult to heal in intense team fights, such as Spider-Man or Black Panther. Iron Man is another such hero, as he usually remains high in the air, out of sight of his healers.

Mantis can attach one of her healing orbs onto Tony Stark, which allows him to heal over time. This makes it so that Mantis can quickly give Iron Man an orb and then focus on the team fight or healing the Vanguards on the objective.

Marvel Rivals Invisible Woman Intro

8Invisible Woman

The Life-Saving Shield

Since Iron Man is primarily fighting the opposing team while swaying around in the sky, he usually becomes an easy target, especially for characters like Namor. Invisible Woman not only provides quick healing to Iron Man when needed, but she can also help protect him from incoming damage with her shield. Invisible Woman’s shield, while small, has 300 HP and floats in the air wherever she places it.

This helps Iron Man continue shooting at enemies while using Sue’s shield for protection. The shield also can protect Iron Man from certain ultimate attacks, such as Groot’s, Namor’s, and an opposing Iron Man’s ultimate.

7Doctor Strange

Team-up and Shield Tank

On any team inMarvel Rivals, it’s vital that at least one Vanguard is present on the team for objective-based game modes, like Convoy. Vanguards can push an objective/team and, hopefully, survive long enough for their teammates to take out the enemies.Dr. Strange is excellent at this,as his damage and amazing shield help his team drive foes back.

Iron Man and Dr. Strange have ateam-up abilitywith Hulk, giving the two more damage. Iron Man can also make great use of Strange’s portal ability by shooting his ultimate attack through a portal and onto the enemy team.

Cloak & Dagger attacking in Marvel Rivals

6Cloak and Dagger

Lock-On Healing

Cloak and Dagger is another healer that pairs very well with Iron Man, as Dagger’s primary fire locks onto other characters. This can easily heal Iron Man, who can be difficult to heal if he isn’t standing still.

When needed, Dagger can use her lock-on healing to bring Tony back up to health, and then use her various abilities to combat the team and keep her own squad alive. Cloak and Dagger’s ultimate is also good for the team’s survivability; Iron Man can simply fly to the ground to receive the healing benefit from their ultimate ability.

Marvel Rivals players don’t like Magneto’s ultimate ability, Meteor M.

5Magneto

Shields and Pushing Objective

Like Dr. Strange, Magneto is a prominent shield-based Vanguard that can push an objective with ease. One of Magneto’s best features is that he can supply one of his teammates with a quick shield bubble, or place one upon himself.

Since Iron Man tends to be an easy target in the air, Magneto can place a shield bubble around him, allowing him to take on all damage for a short time without losing any health. Iron Man can also make use of the bubble and quickly use his ultimate so that he cannot be interrupted beforehand.

Marvel Rivals Reveals New Skin for Mister Fantastic

4Mr. Fantastic

Target Priority and Extra Shields

Mr. Fantastic is wonderful at focusing on one or two targets and pressuring them out of a fight. Iron Man helps with this playstyle well, as he can deal substantial damage to multiple targets and quickly take out a back line from almost any position in a team fight.

The two can focus healers and/or ‘squishy’ characters to disrupt the enemies. Mr. Fantastic can also provide his allies with extra shields, which works nicely with Iron Man, since he can be KO’d relatively easily in the air.

Luna Snow’s MVP pose in Marvel Rivals

3Luna Snow

Healing Out-Of-Position

Luna Snow, one of the best Strategists inMarvel Rivals, is one of the best teammates for Iron Man thanks to her ability, Share the Stage. This ability allows her to attach a snowflake onto one of her allies, which heals them when Luna Snow heals her other teammates.

Since Iron Man is often distanced from teammates or out-of-sight in the air, Share the Stage snowflake can ensure that he gains health back while Luna focuses heals on her front-line allies.

Marvel Rivals Groot holding his hand up

2Groot

Ultimate Ability Synergy

Groot and Iron Man, on the surface, may seem like an odd pairing, but the two share exceptional synergy within their abilities. Groot’s walls provide shield to himself, or damage enemies when enemies are damaged around such walls. Iron Man is always dealing damage and can focus fire on foes around Groot’s various walls.

Groot’s ultimate abilitylaunches roots that pull enemies together and hold them for a short time. Iron Man can take advantage of this by using his “Maximum Pulse” and obliterating those unfortunate enough to get caught in Groot’s roots. With perfect timing, these two can easily ace a team.

Marvel Rivals leaker reveals new Wasteland Hulk skin.

1The Incredible Hulk

Team-Up with Significant Damage

Without the team-up,Iron Man and Hulkexcel at defeating the enemy’s back line or a target that’s been singled out together; one hero is brawling up close while the other is firing AoE blasts from above. The team-up ability makes this dynamic even more efficient, as Hulk provides a gamma boost to Iron Man’s ability, Armor Overdrive.

With this, Iron Man’s damage is immensely more powerful, and his Unibeam attack can melt Vanguards who aren’t receiving any healing. With the addition of Iron Man not needing to reload while in Armor Overdrive, this duo is deadlywhen utilized correctly.
