Summary

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2releases on PC to mixed reviews from players, largely due to a plethora of performance issues with the critically acclaimed sequel. The 2023 follow-up toMarvel’s Spider-ManandMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Moralesfinally made its way to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 30, but fans have been left disappointed after discovering thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2is riddled with crashes, graphical glitches, and general performance issues.

WhileMarvel’s Spider-ManandMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Moralesboth had successful launches on Steam in 2022, with the former boasting an impressive “overwhelmingly positive” review badge on the platform, the latest entry in Insomniac Games' renowned series has had a rather odd launch. After being announced for PC back in October, both Insomniac and PlayStation remained silent on the port right up until its launch. With no pre-orders and very little marketing,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2fans were left massively concerned over its PC release. Things now appear to have gone from bad to worse for the sequel, as it appears to be infested with performance issues.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Players Aren’t Happy With PC Performance

Thesystem requirements forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2will vary depending on what players want to get out of the title. For fans looking for ultra settings with ray tracing enabled, an RTX 4090 with either an i9-12900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is required. But even fans with beefy specs are still reporting some serious issues with the PC port ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. With over 1,600 reviews since the title’s launch on January 30, only 55% of its player reviews are positive, leading to a “mixed” review badge on Steam. Many of the negative reviews (some of which can be seen below) claim the title is filled with graphical glitches and crashes, even with adequate system specifications.

Although there are clearly some graphical and performance issues that need to be rectified in a future update, thePC port ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2comes with a variety of platform-specific features that can’t be achieved on the PlayStation 5. An unlocked framerate allows for a smoother experience well above the usual 60 FPS, while improved ray-tracing reflections enhance the stunning visuals ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2even further. There’s also ultra-wide monitor support, including 16:9, 16:10, 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 resolutions with triple monitor setups using NVIDIA Surround or AMD Eyefinity.
