Insomniac Games has been on a roll with its Marvel adaptations, and it looks like the developer has no plans on stopping anytime soon, withMarvel’s Wolverineconfirmed, while Venom and X-Men games have leaked. Following the success ofMarvel’s Spider-Man,Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, andMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac is bringing Logan into the fold with its next project, withMarvel’s Wolverineset to be a third-person action experience that will expand the universe of Insomniac’s previous Marvel games in major ways.

While Insomniac has kept official details on the project to a minimum, many aspects ofMarvel’s Wolverinehave been leakedsince it was first revealed in 2021. Leaked Suits for Marvel’s Wolverine

It was all but guaranteed thatMarvel’s Wolverinewould offer up an array of in-game outfits for the titular hero. Theunlockable costumes featured in Insomniac’sSpider-Mangameswere highlights for many fans, as they not only paid homage to popular movies and comics but gave players the opportunity to customize their experience. It would be a no-brainer to carry this system intoMarvel’s Wolverine, especially with the tremendous amount of variety that Wolverine’s wardrobe has had over the years.

According to leaks posted on Reddit last week, a handful ofWolverine’s alternate suits for the game have already been revealed. These include a classic blue and yellow suit, a similar black and yellow suit, and two variants of Wolverine’s brown and yellow suit. These leaks are currently uncomfirmed and are purportedly from an older build of the game, but given the iconic nature of these costumes, it seems unlikely for some version of these designs to not be make it into the final game.

The History of Wolverine’s Brown and Yellow Outfit

The brown and yellow suit in particular is a welcome addition for many Wolverine fans, and it continues an ongoing trend in modern Marvel media. The suit first appeared in 1980 inUncanny X-Men#139. The suit was Wolverine’s primary outfit for most of the 80s and the early 90s, and it was featured on some of the most popular Marvel comic covers of all time, likeIncredible Hulk(Volume 2) #340 andWolverine(Volume 1) #1. However, Wolverine’s brown and yellow attire has always been overshadowed by the character’s better known blue and yellow ensemble.

That said, the brown and yellow suit has been getting more and more attention in recent history. Not only was it heavily featured in the Krakoan run ofX-Mencomics, but it also made appearances inX-Men ‘97,Deadpool & Wolverine, and evenFortnite— thanks toPeelverine— last year. On top of that, the outfit now looks to be making its way toMarvel’s Wolverine. The suit’s injection into more mainstream media could simply be Marvel paying homage to a historic Wolverine outfit, but it could also be the start of a renaissance for the costume.

The Future of the Brown and Yellow Outfit

While Wolverine’s blue and yellow look is synonymous with the character, Marvel seems intent on bringing the brown and yellow back into the spotlight. It’s a refreshing switch-up for the character, and thoughDeadpool & Wolverinewas able to pull off Wolverine’s classic colors, the less flashy brown variant of his suit feels more in line with the character’s tone. It’s unknown where this outfit could appear next — outside ofMarvel’s Wolverine— but it would be a great choice forWolverine’s next appearance in the MCUand an obvious pick for an alternateMarvel Rivalsskin.
