Summary
PopularMinecraftYouTuber Bubbaflubba has recreated famous paintings like Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Edvard Munch’s The Scream in the game.Minecraft’s Creative mode allows gamers to express themselves artistically, and this YouTuber may have taken this to a new level.
Minecraftwas still in its beta phase when Creative mode was added to the game, opening up the potential for more artistic expression. Before this, gamers were stuck to Survival, which was still open to creativity, but within the limitations and physics of the mode. AsMinecraftintroduced more blocks to the game since it was released, it created new avenues and possibilities for Creative and Survival modes alike. Players have shared impressive builds like an incredibly detailed locomotive,a giant statue ofPokemon’s Hisuian Typhlosion, a replica of SpongeBob’s Pineapple home, and much more. OneMinecraftgamer has decided to use the standard lineup of resources to recreate four incredible paintings.

YouTuber Bubbaflubba recently shared a video highlighting theirMinecraftversion of several world-famous paintings. The video begins with Bubbaflubba expressing their intent to change the minds of people whothink ofMinecraftas a video gamerather than an art program meant for artistic expression. The Youtuber then goes on to recreate Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, Edvard Munch’s The Scream, and Johannes Vermeer’s Girl With a Pearl Earring in the game with only the World Edit mod. While creating each painting, Bubbaflubba highlights the various details that go into each one and the methods they used to recreate them.
This is How Four Famous Paintings Would Look in Minecraft
Bubbaflubba’s video is like the sped-upMinecraftequivalent of watching Bob Ross paint his landscapes, and he implements a grid method to complete the builds. These paintings are well-known globally, and all but The Scream can be found inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. While he’s constructing the Mona Lisa painting, Bubbaflubba points out thatMinecraft’s block palletis still a bit limited for creating photorealistic builds. The blocks used for the paintings include stripped logs and planks of various wood types, copper of different oxidizations, Terracotta, Stone, Deepslate, and more. Beyond doing the paintings themselves, BubbaFlubba also framed each one, which helped them stand out from the surrounding landscape.
As the only mod that Bubbaflubba used was World Edit, mostMinecraftplayers may be able to recreate these paintings in their worlds. Given thatMojang continues to updateMinecraft, more blocks may be introduced to the game, which could open up even more possibilities for paintings like this.
