Minecrafthas shared the details regarding the latest Java Snapshot and upcoming Bedrock Preview build. The announcement confirmed that Cows received some much-deserved attention, with Cold Cows patrolling frigid biomes, and the Warm Cow residing in hotter climates. The Cold Cow fittingly has fluffy fur that helps them survive the harsher environments, while the Warm Cow is a brown version of the standard mob. Both new variants fittingly have horns that make them stand out compared to the Cows players are used to. According to the announcement, theMinecraftDesert biomenow includes more ambient sounds, like the chirping of crickets, rustling twigs, and howling winds.

A key feature of the latestMinecraftSnapshot is the Firefly Bushes, which can be found in Swamps or near bodies of water. While the announcement confirms that these fireflies glow and can be applied to blocks placed on top of them, it’s unclear if they will be a useful light resource.TheMinecraftFirefly was previously consideredas a mob, but parts of the community opposed the idea that Frogs would eat them. As these fireflies will reside in the specific bushes, this may prevent any potential wildlife preservation problems. Finally, standard bushes have also been added to the Snapshot, and they can be found in forests, birch forests, plains, windswept hills, and other green biomes.

Given thatthe last majorMinecraftupdaterevolved around the Pale Garden, this Snapshot’s return to the rest of the Overworld may be a fitting choice. As Mojang has requested player feedback regarding this Snapshot, the new additions may be tweaked before they’re added to the full client.
