Summary
Following the February 4Monster Hunter Wildsshowcase stream, Capcom launched the official PC benchmark for the highly-anticipated title. Along with the new benchmark,Monster Hunter Wildsrevised the spec requirements needed to run the game, which should give PC players a little wiggle room toward ensuring their machines are up to the task.
Three weeks before the game’s launch,Monster Hunter Wildsaired a showcase on February 4to give players a glimpse of the dangerous foes they will encounter. TheMonster Hunterbroadcast followed a Capcom spotlight show that covered other titles such asOnimusha: Way of the Sword,Capcom Fighting Collection 2, andStreet Fighter 6. Some of the creatures that were featured included returning foes, like Nerscylla and Gore Magala, and new ones such as Arkveld, the White Wraith. Preloading forMonster Hunter Wildswill begin on February 26, two days before the game’s full release. Exact times will be revealed closer to launch.

To give PC players an idea of whatspecs will be needed to playMonster Hunter Wilds, Capcom launched a benchmark client for that purpose. The PC benchmark is free todownload from theMonster Hunter WildsSteam page, and requires approximately 26 GB of open storage space on a solid-state drive (SSD). Alongside the new benchmark, Capcom made slight revisions to the minimum and recommended specifications forMonster Hunter Wilds. Now, the minimum graphics cards (GPU) forMonster Hunter Wildsare the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 and the AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, which is a slight change from the previously listed GTX 1660 Super and Radeon RX 5600 XT. The recommended specs now require an RTX 2060, Radeon RX 6600, or newer to playMonster Hunter Wildsat 1080p and 60 FPS with Frame Generation enabled. Capcom also revealed presets for 1440p and 4K resolutions, both of which require powerful PC parts.

TheMonster Hunter WildsPC benchmark launched two days before the game’s second open beta test.Monster Hunterfans can test the gamefrom February 6 through 9, and again from February 13 through 16. Both testing periods will begin at 10:00 PM Eastern, and will have crossplay between PC and consoles active. Players will be able to take on a special version of Arkveld during the open beta.
