It hasn’t been plain sailing for the adaptation created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich since it replaced its beloved Henry Cavill in season four withThe Hunger Gamesstar, Liam Hemsworth. Many fans saw Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt as the only face of the monster slayer and over the span of his appearance in three seasons ofThe Witcher, theSupermanstar accumulated a mass of devoted followers. In what seemed like a cruel twist of the knife, Kim Bodina, who played Geralt’s mentor and fellow witcher Vesemir in season two, alsoleftThe Witcherdue to other commitments. However, the show must go on and, so far,The Witcherseason four has a host of incredibly talented actors joining its cast as they dive deep into post-production.

The Witcher Season 4 Casts Cahir’s Father, Ceallach Aep Gruffyd
According toRedanian Intelligence, the all-knowing eye of all thingsThe Witcher,Wheel of Timeactor, Christopher Sciueref, will play Ceallach aep Gruffyd when season four returns. The seasoned actor has previously jumped into the shoes of roles that include Abell Cauthon inAmazon’sThe Wheel of Time,as well as starring in movies and other series likeMission Impossible 7, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Last Kingdom,andVikings: Valhalla.This time, however,Sciueref will take on the character of Cahir’s father, a seneschal at the court of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis, and Lord of Darn Dyffra.
InThe Witcherseason three, fans sawCahir return to the Nilfgaardian armybut with a different state of mind after becoming a huge villain in the series as a loyal knight of Nilfgaard. Thankfully, his redemption arc kicked in when he finally realized his terrible acts after facing Ciri and telling her that he wanted to die for what he did to her. Although there isn’t much context on how or when Sciueref will appear as Cahir’s father, actor Aaron Zicman, who starred inHouse of the DragonandWicked,has been cast to play a young Cahir.

So far,season four has revealed a host of new cast facesthat are joining the show, which includes Gareth David-Lloyd, who voiced Solas inDragon Age: The Veilguard, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, as well asGame of Thrones' Gary Oliver, plus many more. 2025 looks like it could be the year ofThe Witcheras the Netflix series is currently in post-production with a hopeful release sometime before the end of summer. Also,The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep,the second animated film inThe Witcherseries, will be released on Jun 27, 2025.
