Xbox recently held its third annual Developer Direct showcase, featuring deep dives into some of its biggest 2025 games, such asSouth of Midnight,Doom: The Dark Ages, andClair Obscur: Expedition 33. Just a few days afterNinja Gaiden 4’s reveal, anXbox wire postdivulged some new info about how far along in development the game is. Near the end of the post, PlatinumGames director Yuji Nakao mentioned thatNinja Gaiden 4is largely in the polishing phase of development, and is “currently about 70-80% complete.” Nakao’s estimate makesNinja Gaiden 4feel a bit closer to release than its Fall 2025 window originally made it seem.

This is great news for fans who are eager to get their hands onNinja Gaiden 4,and it likely means that the game won’t see any sort of delay into 2026, as development seems to be going smoothly. Judging by Nakao’s progress update,Ninja Gaiden 4may even drop earlier in the Fall, perhaps as a September release. Fans can almost certainly expect to learn even more about the game during Summer Game Fest in June, likely at Xbox’s yet-to-be-revealed games showcase, which would make the most sense consideringXbox is publishingNinja Gaiden 4.
