It remains to be seen if Nintendo will continue updating its list of the 10 best-selling Switch games once the Switch 2 hits the market, but assuming it does, it’s likely that the list will get some shake-ups in the years ahead. It seems highly likely thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetsales will be enough to eventually eclipseSword and Shield, despite the fact thatSword and Shieldwere the higher-rated games. It also wouldn’t be surprising at all to seeNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxebumped off the list eventually, asSuper Mario Party Jamboreeis the fastest-selling game in its franchiseand is likely to hit the charts at some point down the line.

There are still a few Switch heavy hitters waiting in the wings. In fact, Nintendo recentlyre-confirmed three major Switch games for 2025, withMetroid Prime 4: Beyond,Pokemon Legends: Z-A, andXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionall releasing later this year. It’s unlikely that any of them will manage to crack the top 10 this late into the Switch’s lifespan - especially with rumors ofMetroid Prime 4andLegends: Z-Ahaving native Switch 2 releases as well - but it will be interesting to see what happens.
