Summary

One Piece, as a story, has always been incredibly good at tying up loose ends. From incredibly importantOne Piecevillains to small side characters that barely have any screen time, almost every character has a chance to play out their story. Due to this, when a character hasn’t been relevant in quite some time, many fans believe that the character is going to return to the story ofOne Piece, to complete their story arch officially.

One such character, that fans desperately want to return toOne Piece, is Enel, the main antagonist of the Skypiea Arc. While Enel hasn’t been in the story for quite some time, the character still has some potential reasons why he could once again return to the story, and become a vital part of the Final Saga. While this is definitely a possibility, many fans are tired of hearing about the theories surrounding Enel’s eventual return, which have been circulating intheOne Piececommunity on Social Mediafor far too much time.

Enel’s Story In One Piece Didn’t End After Skypiea

Despite His Defeat Enel Achieved His Goal

After Enel’s defeat on Skypiea, although anime-only watchers would believe this to be the end of the character’s story,Enel returns to aOne PieceCover Story. In this Cover Story, Enel actually completes his goal of traveling to the moon. There, he fights space pirates, liberates a group of moon automata, and learns more about the moon’s ancient history. While this is a great potential stopping point for the character inOne Piece, undoubtedly, there is still more the character could contribute to the series.

Throughout the community, fans have been speculating on Enel’s return for several reasons. Namely, he is one of the only primary antagonists who hasn’t been a part of the main story ever since his defeat. Even beforeOne Piece’sFinal Saga, it feels like fans were predicting that Enel would return during almost every arc. Due to the amount of speculation about the character flooding the community, many fans feel that it is time to let go and wait to see what will happen to Enel’s character.

Enel Needs A New Goal If He Were To Return To One Piece

He Currently Has No Major Reason To Fight The World Government

However, there are a few reasons that support the opposite case, pointing out that Enel may never return tothe story ofOne Piece. Mainly, Enel has already completed his lifetime goal in the series. Enel has already reached the “Fairy Vearth” and claimed the moon as his own. Unless he finds a new motivation that pits him against Luffy or theOne PieceWorld Government, it seems unlikely that he will return to the series.

Still, many fans predict thattheOne Piecevillain, Enel, may be an important figure in fighting against the nobles of the world, who are self-proclaimed gods, as it would anger him. However, as it currently stands, Enel has no reason to leave the moon. It would be far more likely to see Enel in the story again if other characters journeyed to the moon for some reason. Until that happens, however, Enel may not make his triumphant return inOne Piece.

The Story Of One Piece May Not Be Ready For Enel

Enel Needs More Development Before He Returns

Finally, in terms of story writing, bringing Enel back toOne Piecemay not be the best decision for the series. While other characters, such as Crocodile or Buggy, have had time to develop their characters and justify their returns, Enel suddenly changes his mind about wanting to stay on the moon. Without the proper time to justify it, it would be a bad decision. Unless Enel returns for a few chapters to show how the moon has changed him, his return may be unlikely.

I am lightning. - Enel

For these reasons and many others, fans are sick of hearing abouttheOne PieceSkypiea Arc villain, Enel’s, return. However, mainly, the overwhelming amount of fans who claim that the character will return every arc is the main culprit as to why fans are so upset with this fan theory. In the end, whether or not Enel returns toOne Pieceor not, he was an excellent antagonist and a great character for the arc he was a part of.
