Zoro’s Famous Three Swords
When Two Just Isn’t Enough
One Pieceis ahuge story encompassing countless characters, but Roronoa Zoro is one of the most crucial - and has been around since near the beginning of the epic tale. Zoro is determined to be the best swordsman in the world, and wields not just one but three swords. All three of Zoro’s swords have a name (at this point in the story), along with their own story to tell. The three swords are called the Wado Ichimonji, Sandai Kitetsu, and Enma.
When Zoro first joined the story, only the Wado Ichimonji had a name. This iconic white sword is also the one that Zoro characteristically wields in his mouth, which can also be seen in Netflix’s live-action version ofOne Piece. Going beyond the live-action show, Zoro’s other swords have changed and improved throughout his journey. This especially applies to Enma, which previously belonged tothe legendary samurai Kozuki Oden. Zoro is able to fight using all three swords simultaneously, though he doesn’t use them all unless he needs to.
Official Replicas of Zoro’s Swords by Proplica
You Can Wield Three Swords, Too
The three swords that have been made by Proplica are officialOne Piecegoods, produced directly by Bandai. They are life-size replicas that are as screen-accurate as possible. The three swords in the set are Zoro’s current three, the Wado Ichimonji, Sandai Kitetsu, and Enma. The set comes not only with all three swords, but also a display stand, which impressively displays all three blades in their sheaths.
In addition to being screen-accurate weapons, the three replica swords also have a very special feature. They also newly recorded play dialogue lines from Zoro as well as Kozuki Oden, the previous owner of Enma. A sample of the dialogue can be seen in the YouTube video BANDAI SPIRITS posted of the swords. Of course, the dialogue is only available in Japanese, by the Japanese voice actors behind those characters.
In addition to posting photos of the trio of blades, theOne Piecemanga X account also posted a photo of Zoroholding the Wado Ichimonji in his mouth, which is exactly what any fan would likely want to do as well if they got their hands on the famous white sword. The X post from Premium Bandai also links to an interview with the staff member who led the project of making the swords, but be advised that again this is only available in Japanese.
The swords are set to release in June through Premium Bandai Japan, and can be purchased for 59,400 yen ($380 USD). Keep in mind that they are real prop swords, not toys, and do come with both special voice recordings and a display stand. Each sword also has a sheath, not just a naked blade. This may be your only chance to wield three swords, just like Roronoa Zoro does - but we don’t really recommend actually using them.
