A huge issue the manga industry has been facing is the leaking of manga chapters before the official release, which drastically affects the views the official chapters get, as well as the revenue generated. This is a huge issue Shueisha is trying to fight.

One Piece Leaks Under Attack By Publishers
Publishers are Targeting 19 Piracy Sites
Shueisha, which handles the publishing ofOne Pieceas well as countless other huge mangas is currently going after the operators of some huge piracy sites.
Specifically, on Jul 03, 2025, Shueisha filed a DMCA subpoena to the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Shueisha is seeking to find their names, addresses, and phone numbers, along with other pieces of information, which could put these people in huge legal trouble, if found.
Basically, Shueisha wants access to websites that allow leaksof One Piece scansto be denied by Cloudflare. This includes the following 19 websites:

This is not the first time Shueisha has tried to come after piracy sites, and probably not the last time either.
What this Means for the Future of One Piece Scans
One Piece Scans Will Continue To Leak Early
Shueisha will continue trying to go after illegal scansthat are released before the official manga chapter goes up. However, this might not be that effective in the long run. Shueisha could manage to take down some piracy sites, but whenever one is down, another takes its place. So this is almost an impossible fight to win for them. That said, legal prosecution could deter many people from building piracy sites in the future.
For now, Jump mangas will continue to leak early. But if it’s even stopped, fans will just have to wait for the official chapter to come out on Sunday on apps like Viz Media or Manga Plus.
