The Elbaf arc ofOne Pieceis officially getting more intense as the big battles are now being set up. InOne Piecechapter 1137, fans finally got their first look at the main antagonist of the arc, and it turned out to be none other thanthe twin brother of Shanks, Shamrock Figarland.
This new character is incredibly exciting and bound to be very powerful. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see him go all out, and it is quite clear that his importance going forward is going to be absolutely paramount. While not all of Shamrock’s powers have been revealed already, Oda has already implied his strength tier, and at the same time, hinted at his potential powers as well. As the Elbaf arc continues, fans will most definitely get to see more of Shamrock Figarland and his abilities.
Oda Officially Reveals Shamrock Figarland — Garling’s Son And The Leader Of The Holy Knights
Over the last few weeks,One Piecefans have been heavily debating the idea of Shanks’s twin being in Elbaf. When a mysterious hooded individual appeared in Elbaf, it became clear that this person was none other than Shanks’s brother. Yet, some fans were in denial, for one reason or another. While some wanted Shanks to be the one who spoke to the Gorosei in One Piece chapter 907 to further their own headcanons, others outright wanted Shanks to be evil. It is safe to say that none of those ideas are true and have officially been debunked by Oda. Shanks’s brother’s identity was finally confirmed by Oda in One Piece chapter 1137, and his name was revealed to be Shamrock Figarland.

The meaning behind the name is quite interesting. Shamrock is a trefoil leaf, from a clover-like plant which also represents Ireland. The three leaves of the clover likely indicate the Figarland Family itself, whose members are Garling Figarland, the father and likely one of the strongest, Shamrock Figarland, the son and the leader of the Holy Knights, and Shanks, the representation of the Holy Spirit. The reason for choosing this name was incredibly interesting from Oda and fans are incredibly excited to see how Shamrock’s story will continue from here onwards, especially now that he’s been confirmed to be Elbaf’s main antagonist.
In One Piece Chapter 1137, Oda officially unveiled Shamrock Figarland as the leader of the Holy Knights, and the son of Garling Figarland. At the same time, Oda also gave him a purpose, that is to get Elbaf officially under the control of the World Government and use their strength to reshape the world once again.
It isn’t surprising that Oda has unveiled Shamrock here. After all, Oda had already teased his arrival in the story long ago. During Jump Festa, Oda had this to say to the fans:

Clearly, Oda was always planning for Shamrock to appear here, and now that he has, an exciting confrontation withLuffy and the Straw Hat Pirateshas been set up. Fans will definitely see Shamrock fight against Luffy and that is where all his abilities will finally be revealed to the fans.
Shamrock’s Strength Is Likely Yonko Level
Shamrock Is Portrayed To Be On the Same Level As The Emperors
Undoubtedly, upon the introduction of Shamrock, fans started wondering about his role in the Elbaf arc, and more importantly, how strong he will be. While Oda hasn’t shown him going all out yet, the answer to the question is quite clear.
Shamrock’s portrayal as the main villain of Elbaf in itself confirms that he’s on the same level as the Yonko, given his enemy is a Yonko. However, that’s not all. His power portrayal was given to the fans in other ways as well.
InOne Piecechapter 1137, fans saw Shamrock Figarland being confirmed to be the leader of the Holy Knights. His job there was to recruit Loki for the Holy Knights, whose bounty is 2.6 billion berries and whose strength is said to be enough to destroy the world. If Loki were to join the Holy Knights, he’d still be under Shamrock Figarland’s command, which, in other words, implies that Shamrock is stronger than Loki and around the same tier as the Yonko.
Oda reiterated this fact inOne Piecechapter 1137, where, after being attacked by Gunko, Loki swore that if he were not chained, the outcome of the battle would’ve been different. However, Shamrock clearly told him that even if he were free, he wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it against them. This is incredible confidence from Shamrock, despite knowing Loki’s bounty and famous strength. As such, the takeaway here isthat Shamrock Figarland is Yonko Level.
A Potential Devil Fruit And Haki?
Shamrock Will Have Legendary Conqueror’s Haki
Shamrock is, undoubtedly, very powerful and fans know for a fact that he’ll be a very strong Haki user. Even though Oda hasn’t shown it, Shamrock should be a confirmed user of all three types of Haki, and fans should fully expect him to have Advanced Supreme King Haki. Regardless of whether his Supreme King Haki is on the same level as that of Shanks or not, fans should expect Shamrock to be a monstrously powerful Haki user. After all,he’s Shanks’s brotherand Garling’s son.
Shamrock could also have a Devil Fruit power. Once again, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to any fan. Shamrockis a World Government memberand usually, they all have strong abilities. Furthermore, Gunko was recently shown to have the Arrow Arrow Fruit, and it is possible that Shamrock will have some strong ability as well. But, if he doesn’t, fans should fully expect him to be a monster of Haki the likes of which can only be matched by characters such as Shanks, and others in the same tier.
With it now having been confirmed that the God’s Knights are the main enemies of the Elbaf arc, fans absolutely cannot wait for them to take center stage and launch an all-out offensive soon, which would then lead to their fight against the likes ofLuffy and the Straw Hat Pirateseven more exciting.
