Summary

The Elbaf arc ofOne Pieceis just in its initial phase, and already, fans have seen Oda reveal a ton of exciting information to them. While readers did expect this arc to have a ton of major reveals, especially about Nika, these reveals have still gone on to shock everyone, and on top of that, Oda has revealed an incredibly massive amount of lore about things that fans never expected they would go on to find out about.

Interestingly enough, one character that fans never thoughtthey’d hear of in the Elbaf arcofOne Pieceis Oars, the massive Ancient Giant who was first introduced in the Thriller Bark arc ofOne Piece. Now, fans know that Oars is a warrior legendary even to the Giant, and based on the latest reveals, a lot of things in the story have now started making a ton of sense. More importantly, Oars’ importance in the story remains paramount, and it appears that fans might not have seen the last of him just yet.

The Continent Puller And His Death

The tale of the Continent Puller is quite an old one inOne Piece. Fans know him to have been a very powerful individual who is said to have existed over 500 years ago. When exactly Oars was born isn’t clear. However, given that his tale is legendaryeven to the Giants of Elbafsuggests that it must’ve been a few generations ago for them, meaning anywhere between 800 go 1600 years ago makes a lot of sense. Oars is an Ancient Giant, the likes of which are very rare in the world today. In fact, only Little Oars Jr exists as a representation of the Ancient Giants in the One Piece world today, which is quite shocking. For one reason or another, the Ancient Giants died out and Oars himself, the strongest of them all who was said to also be the most evil, perished long ago too. Oars was called the Continent Puller because it was believed that he pulled countries and continents to him after taking control of them—such was his strength.

Unfortunately, his luck ran out when he visited a country or ice wearing nothing but a lion cloth and ended up getting a frostbite. This ended up being his undoing and he died. After Oars, his family members likely died as well, and Little Oars Jr. is the only person from this bloodline who is presumably still alive today. Even though Oars died long ago, the Ancient Giants continue to be an active topic inOne Piece. After all, they’re the mightiest race in the entire world.

The Ancient Giants are three times as big as any other Giant, and on top of that their strength is far greater as well. Their features are more demonic, which explains why Oars was called an evil Oni by many.

Why Oars Could Be Reincarnated As A Destroyer

There Is An Element Of The Ancient Giants Still At Play

The Ancient Giants of theOne Pieceworld are incredibly important right now. Usopp was the first to bring them up in the story, and it appears that they’ll go on to play quite a significant role in the Final Saga, despite not having actively shown up in the arc just yet. In Elbaf, fans have found out that the legend of Oars is held in high regard even among the mighty Giants. They speak of Oars as a legend, similar to how other races speak of Nika. Of course, Oars isn’t Nika, regardless of whether or not he wanted to be like him, but what fans know is that he still holds legendary status in the world. Apart from Little Oars Jr., Oars the Destroyer might not have much of a legacy in theOne Pieceworld, but it has now been revealed that Oars’s blood is still present in many in the world. Clearly, fans have seen quite a few horned characters in the world of One Piece. As explained by Oda, these horns usually result from the blood of the Ancient Giants,if not some sort of a Devil Fruit.

Over the years, fans have seen many individuals with horns in theOne Pieceworld, and most of the time, these horns remain unexplained. Now, Oda has finally addressed this issue, and fans know that the horns are simply a result of having the blood of the Ancient Giants.

While the idea could simply be that these individuals have Ancient Giant blood, another interesting idea could be that among those who have the blood of Oars, there could be someone who would eventually go on to inherit his powers and become the destroyer of the world, fulfilling his desire as well. Given how much disdain certain people have for Oars, having horns would make certain Giants hate themselves, while others would relish the idea of being the next continent Puller and reducing the world to rubble

Is Loki The Next Destroyer?

Loki Could Be Just Like Continent Puller Oars

As fans know,Loki has two massive horns on his head, and is likely that they don’t come from any Devil Fruit. These horns are natural, as Loki is chained using Seastone, yet the horns are there. This is a clever indicator of the fact that the horns are real, meaning Loki has Ancient Giant blood too. Given Loki’s personality, fans know for a fact that he relishes the idea of having Ancient Giant blood, and that he probably uses this to propel the belief that he’s the strongest there is.

Loki could very well be the next destroyer and channel his fury just like Little Oars Jr did long ago in the past. In fact, fans shouldn’t be surprised if it is written in Harley that the Ancient Giant Oars will make his return through one of his descendants and go on to destroy the world. Loki is doing just that and even though he clearly said he wants to be the Sun God, Nika, there is no reason to don’t the fact that people would equate the Sun God to the Ancient Giants, given thathe was from Elbafand existed over a 1000 years ago.

Fans will most definitely get to seeLoki’s destructive powerssoon enough, and as that happens, his true nature will be brought forth. That said, neither Loki nor Oars are necessarily evil characters, despite having the reputation. There is a lot of nuance to their characters that Oda will, hopefully, tackle in the Elbaf arc as the plot moves forward.
