The Legendary Treasure That Launched The Great Pirate Era
TheOne Pieceis the treasure that lies at the end ofOne Piece’sGrand Line. Although at least a portion of it was left by the ancient being from the Void Century, Joy Boy, the treasure was claimed byRoger, the first Pirate King, and the first person to conquer the Grand Line. After finding this treasure, and presumably leaving some of his own, during Roger’s execution, the pirate revealed this hidden treasure to the world, telling everyone to go and claim it, thus beginning the Great Pirate Era.

However, later in the series, specifically during theOne Piecesamurai Oden’s flashback, more information about the One Piece was revealed. Namely, when Roger and his crew reachedthe final island of the Grand Line, the crew realized they were too early for something. Although many fans assume that the One Piece is some sort of actual treasure, like gold and diamond, many other fans believe that it is something more symbolic. While Oda has claimed thatthe One Piece isn’t a symbolfor something like friendship or hard work, there are many other things that it could be. This includes a massive feast and party to reward the future Pirate King, and the potential liberator of the world.
Potentially, the One Piece could be a massive feast to mark a momentous point in the history of the One Piece world, namely the return of Joy Boy and the liberation of the world from the clutches ofOne Piece’sWorld Government. After this, the hero of the story and next to bear the name “Joy Boy,” will be given a feast as a reward, a place where people can be free to dance and party as the Sun God Nika intended. In many ways, this could echo the party of the Straw Hats on Skypiea, something that heavily references Nika as well.

Additionally, Roger was early in this situation because, firstly, the time for liberating the world was not at hand. Characters like Shirahoshi andthe protagonist ofOne Piece,Luffy, who would be major players in the world’s liberation, were not born yet. However, the other reason may be because the feast that was promised to the liberator and future Joy Boy inOne Piecesimply wasn’t ready yet. If this feast is going to be a reward for the greatest pirate of their era, it’s going to reach a mythical status. Though it may seem strange, in the world ofOne Piece, a meal taking 800 years to cook isn’t that odd.

In the end, although the One Piece inOne Piece’sFinal Sagacould be anything, it would be interesting if it was something akin to a feast or a party. This would also be one of the greatest rewards a pirate likeOne Piece’sStraw Hat Captain, Luffy, could ask for. However, until the treasure is revealed inOne Piece, fans will have to wait patiently before learning what it might be.
