In the most recent chapter ofOne Piece, Chapter 1136, a new drawing of Nika appeared with more information. Namely, the Giants of Elbaf explained that Nika, as a figure, is more amorphous than many fans had previously anticipated. While some believe the figure to be a liberator, others believe that Nika is a God of Destruction. These conflicted beliefs have led to a new resurgence of theories claiming that there may be multiple Nika-like figures.

However, most interestingly, the drawing ofthe Sun God Nika inOne Pieceshows the figure holding a sword and shield and wearing a helmet. So far, previous depictions of the character have been shown to be unarmed, though now Nika is much more equipped than before. While this may be shown to depict the potential danger the figure may propose, it brings up an interesting difference between Luffy and the Sun God Nika. Despite not using a weapon, Luffy may already have a sword and a shield; Zoro and Sanji. Beingthe two wings of the Straw Hat captain, Zoro and Sanji perfectly represent a sword and shield at the pirate’s side.
