Chapter 1136 ofOne Piecewas incredibly important to the overall story as well as the history of the world. Fans of the franchise are aware of the Void Century and the fact that there are tons of mysteries regarding ancient times, and, throughout the story, fans have gotten vague glimpses as to what these may be. Now that the series is in its Final Saga, information regarding these mysteries is starting to come far more frequently.
As such, Chapter 1136 revealsmuch regarding the Void Centuryand, to the surprise of many, even hints at the possible state of the world before that. One Pieceis no stranger to creating bigger mysteries when previous ones are answered, and there is no better example of this than the recent reveals in this chapter which seem to change everything that fans thought they knew about the world, so let’s take a look at what these are.

Story Arc
Elbaf
Going into this chapter, fans were already expecting some jaw-dropping moments because of therecent arrival of the Gods' Knightsand the importance of Elbaf as a whole. However, Chapter 1136 revealed some massive chunks of lore that changed everything that fans had thought of before, namely the fact that Sun God Nika is also known to be a great destroyer as well as the fact that the world has already been destroyed 2 times before.
This is monumental for several reasons. For the Sun God Nika reveal, this mythical being has been teased since Skypiea as someone who goes around the world spreading joy and laughter and is seen as a symbol of liberation to all oppressed people. However, it was revealed that in times past, many used to think of Nika as a Destroyer God who struck fear into the hearts of the mightiest people of the day. This is why Loki calls himself the Sun God who will destroy the world, because that is part of the legend of Nika on Elbaf.
Apparently, slaves in ancient times believed in a legendary warrior that would eventually come and save them! They called him ‘Sun God’ Nika!
This directly ties to the even greater revelation of the world having been destroyed two times before. The previous destruction of the world was never really a secret, since fans had been speculating about this for years, and this was finally confirmed duringDr. Vegapunk’s broadcast during the Egghead arc, which also stated that the world is currently building up to yet another cataclysmic event. However, confirming that there have been two iterations of the world that have been destroyed opens up a whole new perspective and implications.
Before Luffy, Joyboy was the owner of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika and is largely remembered as a good guy who liberated many lands and fought against tyranny. However, he lost against the forces of Imu and the World Government, which likely ended with the ‘destruction’ of the world through major flooding. This is where the reveal gets fascinating since this entire cycle is implied to have happened once before the time of Joyboy.
This time is likely where the initial legend of Nika came from as the first place where this specific Devil Fruit appeared in history. However, unlike Joyboy and Luffy, the user of this Devil Fruit from these ancient times may have been evil and used its powers for selfish reasons. This could be what caused the first destruction of the world, as a madman with godlike powers reduced everything to rubble.
Another very interesting theory could be that, just like the subsequent users of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, the first iteration of the Sun God was also a heroic figure but may have been forced to make a tough decision. This decision, or perhaps even a mistake, could have led to the first destruction of the world, after which the myth of Nika being a destroyer God was born, though this is all just speculation for now.
How This Could Tie Back To Loki
The Sun God Who Wants To Destroy The World
Another incredible implication of this ties directly back to Loki and his rumored Devil Fruit. At this stage, it’s entirely possible that there areactually 2 Legendary Devil Fruitsthat are synonymous with the power of Sun God Nika, whether they give similar or different powers. If this is true, then it could be that the very first incarnation of Nika had the same fruit as Loki did, turning him into a ‘Sun God’ of a sort but one with powers different from that of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.
I am the Sun God who will bring about the end of the world!
This means that Loki’s statement of being a Sun God who seeks to destroy the world technically has merit to it since he also has a Devil Fruit that was once known as the Sun God Nika fruit. If this is the case, it changes everything about whether Loki turns out to be a villain or a hero, since his is the only Devil Fruit that is spoken about in a similar way as Luffy’s own. Conversely, it’s also possible that Loki’s abilities are almost exactly the same as the ones granted to Luffy, which would throw an entirely new perspective into the mix.
