This article contains slight spoilers for the Final Saga of One Piece

Summary

AlthoughOne Piecehas a diverse cast of incredibly strong characters, time and time again, the series has shown that no character is absolutely immune to being defeated. Frequently, despite having set systems, including Warlords, Admirals, and Emperors, characters holding positions in these groups are often defeated and replaced with new members, giving an entirely new character a chance. Although it’s sad to see the tragic death or defeat of an amazing character inOne Piece, seeing a new character fill the position is always at least a little exciting.

Most recently, after the defeat of Big Mom and Kaido,One Piecefans were given the opportunity to meet the two newest Emperors of the Sea, Luffy and Buggy. With the exciting introduction of these two new Emperors, one interesting thing to think about is which characters will eventually join the ranks of theEmperors in the future ofOne Piece. Plus, since many fans predict that some of the current Emperors’ time may be limited in the series, it may not be too far-fetched to see the roster change.

The Emperors May Lose Two Members Before One Piece’s Conclusion

Shanks And Blackbeard Are Likely To Be Defeated Before One Piece Ends

InOne Piece, the Emperor of the Sea system is a way of classifying the four strongest and most notorious pirates in the world. These pirates are currently, Shanks, Blackbeard, Buggy, and, of course, Luffy. These pirates, outside of being a general threat toOne Piece’sWorld Government, seem to own some sort of large territory in the New World, controlling the landscape of the second half of the Grand Line.

This is who they’re calling, the four Emperors now!

However, as many fans predict, two of these captains may not be long for the world ofOne Piece. Firstly, many fans predict that Blackbeard, being one of the main antagonists of the series, will eventually be defeated, most likely by Luffy himself. Additionally, since Shanks is a mentor figure to Luffy and has a fairly shady side, fans also predict that Shanks may die beforethe conclusion ofOne Piece, especially due to the current reveal of Shanks mysterious appearance on Elbaf. Due to this, there may be two spots open for two new Emperors.

Katakuri And Law Would Make Excellent Emperors

Each Hold The Ambition And Power To Change The World

Firstly, a huge potential candidate for a new Emperor inOne Pieceis the First Commander of the Big Mom Pirates, Katakuri. Beingthe potential new leader after Big Mom’s defeat, Katakuri would already have an incredible fleet of pirates under his command right after taking control of the pirate group. Additionally, Whole Cake Island and the surrounding area, which would most likely fall under Katakuri’s command, are ideal territories for an Emperor to have. Paired with Katakuri’s ambition, which at times seems to exceed Big Mom’s, Katakuri may make an ideal Emperor of the Sea.

Another pirate that would make an excellent future Emperor of the Sea would beOne Piececharacter, Law, Luffy’s long-time ally. Although the captain of the Heart Pirates was recently defeated by Blackbeard, it won’t be long before the fan-favorite character makes his comeback inOne Piece. Although Law doesn’t have the territory or fleet that many of the Emperors have, on his own, through the raw strength of the Op-Op Fruit, Law could definitely become a big enough threat to the World Government to warrant Emperor status.

The Emperor System May Not Exist By The End Of One Piece

If A Pirate Becomes The Pirate King There May Not Be A Need For Emperors

However, despite the potential for these two candidates to become future Emperors ofOne Piece, the system itself may be dismantled by the end of the series. Similar toOne Piece’sWarlord system, after one of the Emperors is officially crowned as the King of the Pirates, there may no longer be a need to have Emperors, with one person acting as the de facto “king.” At the same time, if the World Government itself is destroyed, the many systems that the group created would probably go with it.

In the end, Katakuri and Law would make great candidates for Emperors inthe future ofOne Piece. However, by the end of the series, the Emperor system may no longer exist as the audience knows it. Potentially, by the end ofOne Piece, there may be an entirely new system of power in the Grand Line, focused entirely on the whims of the Pirate King.
