Readers who are interested in her new one-shot will be delighted to know thatit will be released on July 05, 2025. Ai Bakka is a romantic drama, and it will be 16 pages long. It is rumored that Mengo Yokoyari will appear in the one-shot, marking the first time she appears in the magazine.
Mengo Yokoyari’s Ai Bakka Will Be Released In February 2025
Mengo Yokoyari started working with Aka Akasaka on Oshi no Ko in 2020. The latter’s writing combined with Mei’s artwork made for a killer combination that drew the attention of the masses. Oshi no Ko manga sold over 20 million copies in just 4 years, which is an extremely impressive number, especiallywhen compared to Aka Akasaka’s previous works. In contrast, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, which began in 2015, sold 22 million copies in nearly a decade, despite having a subjectively better ending.
Like most manga series, Oshi no Ko’s popularity took off with the anime. The anime was announced in 2022, and its first episode was released in 2023. The first season had 12 episodes, and they were all the highest grade. Following its success, a second season was confirmed almost immediately. It was later revealed that Oshi no Ko’s second season would air in June 2024.

Once again, the anime received positive reviews from fans, prompting Doga Kabo to make a quick announcement about the third season. After waiting a few months, the studiodisclosed that Oshi no Ko season 3 would air in 2026. The episode count for the third season has yet to be revealed.

With its controversial conclusion, Oshi no Ko joins the growing list of manga series that did everything right except for the ending. Of course, each person’s taste is different, but it is hard to overlook it, especially when the author admits to it being controversial. Following the manga’s ending,a novel was released that expandedon the conclusion, but fans thought it made things worse.
