Summary

SomePalworldplayers are reporting a problem with crude oil extractors after the launch of a late January 2025 update to the game that should have made the devices function even more efficiently. Crude oil is a significant commodity inPalworld, and players may have to tear down and rebuild their extractors to get the most out of them.

Crude oil was first introduced to the game in late June 2024 as part ofPalworld’s Sakurajima Update. Considered the first major expansion for the game, which is still in its Early Access period, the update received a lot of attention for its new region and tameable Pals, but its inclusion of crude oil also unlocked a lot of crafting options, with the raw material featured as a required ingredient in Plasteel, Flamethrower Fuel, Missile Ammo, and Frag Grenades Mk2.

AnewPalworldupdatelaunched just days ago, on January 23, mainly focused on introducing special skins for five different Pals related to the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, which takes place on January 29. That update, the second forPalworldin January, was also loaded with bug fixes and adjustments. Two of these were designed to increase the speed at which crude oil extractors and the Pal Labor Research Laboratory produce crude oil. Since that update, however, some players, including Reddit user Ashen9000, have been reporting that their previously built extractors have not been speeding up at all, and the solution seems to be destroying them and rebuilding from scratch.

Palworld May Be Having Trouble With Oil Extractors

Multiple other players have reported similar problems, especially when more than one extractor is added to one ofPalworld’s crude oil locations. Thankfully, when more than one extractor is present, players indicate that they only need to destroy and rebuild a single extractor to get all extractors to function at the new, higher production rate.Palworlddeveloper Pocketpair hasn’t specified exactly how fast extractors should be producing crude oil following the update, but some players are reportedly seeing increases of between 50 and 100 percent in their yields as long as their extractors are working properly.

Pocketpair has yet to make an official public announcement regarding the reports of malfunctioning crude oil extractors, but the development team is hard at work preparing to add more Early Access content to the game as its official release approaches. APalworldroadmap revealearlier this week shows a lot on the docket, including co-op crossplay, new Pals and technologies, improvements to Pals assigned to bases, and a final boss and ending scenario.
