You cannot change the loadout in any way, and the challenge must be done at the location indicated on the board. you may view the current week’s challenge at any time via the Main Menu board under the ‘Weekly Tasks’ column (as seen above) at the very bottom. However, to fully satisfy Challenge Mode for the week and obtain those rewards, you must complete the prescribed contractthree times. They do not need to be consecutive successes, but they must be done within the current week’s time to count towards completion.Challenge Mode resets every Sundayalong with all other Weekly Tasks, and there are over two dozen types of challenges, such as theGlow in the Dark Challenge.

To queue for the current Challenge Mode task, select either ‘Singleplayer’ or ‘Multiplayer,’ depending on whether you’re choosing to do the challenge solo or with a party. Then, look for your ‘Difficulty’ setting and select it to go to your options. Scroll until you find the’Challenge Mode' option, where you can see exactly what the challenge will be and your progress with it.

Press ‘Apply’ in the bottom right corner, and then pivot to the Locations board to your left to find the map specified in the challenge. Select it, then go back to the Main Menu. Since you cannot change yourstarting equipmentfor challenges, your loadout menu will instead indicate that “a challenge-specific loadout is provided at no cost,” so at that point, you’re ready to travel to the contract.

How To Complete Frostbitten Challenge In Phasmophobia

As its name suggests, theFrostbitten Challengein Phasmophobia involves dealing with cold-themed obstacles and being deprived of certain equipment that helps combat cold and darkness. When pulled up under Difficulty settings, the challenge is vaguely explained as follows: “It’s so cold that it’s slowing everyone down, including the ghost!”

This challenge must be done atCamp Woodwind, which is the smallest of the rural/campsite-themed maps. Upon arriving, you’ll notice that the designated weather issnow, meaning that temperatures around the entire map are preemptively cold. On top of that, the fuse box on this map (the red generator by the bathroom) is permanently broken, so lights cannot be turned on anywhere to help preserve sanity or increase temperatures.

However, the silver lining to that handicap is that it is significantly easier to determine temperature-related evidence ifthe ghost you’re dealing withwarrants it. Also, unlike certain other challenges in the game, this one allows you to restore your sanity when needed, since lights of any kind are out of the question.

The loadout you’re provided to conduct your investigation includes a mixture of mostlytier 1 and tier 2 equipment, with the exception oftier 3 sanity medication, which also allows you to “sprint” for an extended period when used. The only types of equipment missing entirely from the loadout include Firelights, Incenses, and Igniters. However, be aware this does mean that you won’t be able to light the bonfire on the right side of the map for sanity preservation or use Incense to evade ghosts during hunts.

As with just about every other type of challenge as well, there arenoCursed Objects (Possessions)for you to use to find and ensnare the ghost. However, per the challenge’s description, ghosts move at only 75% of their normal speed, so that can provide a small advantage. Player speed is also reduced to 75%, so be mindful.

To complete the challenge and earn full credit, you mustfulfill the contract on the aforementioned map and successfully identify the ghost. Completing the three optional objectives provided is not required but is encouraged for extra rewards. Again, you must do this three times to get the full $5,000 reward.

General Tips For Completing Frostbitten Challenge

When it comes to dealing with challenges inPhasmophobiathat deprive you of resources like light to drain your sanity more quickly, finding the ghost’s location as soon as possible is even more important. To do that, it’s recommended to use equipment such as theParabolic Microphoneto listen for paranormal noises and determine the direction it’s coming from. Thankfully, Camp Woodwind is a very cozy map, so there aren’t a lot of places for the ghost to hide.Motion Sensorsare also a viable option to track the ghost’s movement.

Otherwise, you can use the more common items such as theEMF ReaderorTemperature Gaugeto help detect unusually low temperatures or EMF readings from ghost activity. Once you’ve found the ghost, ferry the rest of your necessary equipment to the location as fast as possible to mitigate sanity drain.

Placing acrucifixis a high priority, in case it’s a ghost that can hunt at higher sanity levels.

If you’re playing with a party, you can take turns keeping an eye on placed equipment. Otherwise, if you’re running this challenge solo, taking occasional breaks in the truckis recommended for your sanity and to give the ghost time to interact with your equipment. You can make that even easier with well-placed cameras around the location to help you track evidence such as DOTs,Ghost Orbs, or Ghost Writing.
