Summary
APokemonfan has recently designed alternative regional variant Ghost-type forms for Fennekin, Braixen, and Delphox. Regional variants are among the most popular themes inPokemonfan art, as they give artists the freedom to reimagine popular critters with alternative types, often coming up with impressive results.
Fennekin was originally introduced as one of the three starters inthe sixth generation ofPokemongamesalongside Chespin and Froakie. The Fire-type Pokemon can evolve into Braixen starting at Level 16, and then into Delphox from Level 36 onward. In most titles after Gen 6, Fennekin and its evolutions were only able to be acquired via trading, but the recent “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” DLC forPokemon Scarlet and Violetenabled players to capture this monster on the Savanna Biome after boosting its diversity.

Now, a prolificPokemonfan artist called SayuriKoopa has devised alternative variants for Fennekin and its evolutions, giving the creature a spooky Ghost-type overhaul. The first form of the variant looks like a small purple fox with pale blue eyes and something that resembles a soul coming out of its ears. Following the original evolutions, Braixen is a bipedal creature, retaining its colors. In the fan art, Delphox becomes a Ghost/Dark-type critter instead of a Fire/Psychic-type one, and it still mostly looks like a witch, but it has a much darker design.
Pokemon Fan Art Depicts Ghost-type Fennekin Evolutionary Line
This is not the first time that SayuriKoopa has devised cute regional variants for popular Pokemon. Last year, for example, the fan designed aRock/Steel-type regional variant for Larvitar and its evolutions. In this new design, Larvitar, Pupitar, and Tyranitar were reimagined as monsters with grey and white skin and several crystals covering their bodies.
The starters of the sixth generation are very popular critters, which are often depicted in fan art. Back in 2024, afan designed incredible Mega Evolutions for the Gen 6 starters, for example, creating mighty versions of Delphox, Greninja, and Chesnaught. Each design came with unique lore and different abilities.
Another excellent example of fan art was shared when an artist designedthree alternative forms for Delphox, coming up with designs that give different subtypes to the popular starter. This creative artwork imagined Delphox as three distinct types of witch by using Poison, Dragon, and Electric-type elements. Hopefully, other talented fans will continue to share amazing artwork reimagining popular monsters like Fennekin and its evolutions with thePokemoncommunity.
