APokemonfan has created a custom Normal-type Eeeve evolution that serves as the first of its kind for the popular Pokemon, which is known for having a variety of different evolutions based on how it is raised. The creation drew praise from other fans but also led to some discussion about the design and the logistics of evolving such a creature in the actualPokemongames.
Eevee has been one of the most popular Pokemon in the series since it first debuted inPokemon RedandBlueon the original Game Boy, primarily due to the fact that it can evolve into one of many different forms depending on how the player raises it. While the original games offered just three evolutions: the Fire-type Flareon, the Electric-type Jolteon, and the Water-type Vaporeon, later games would add more versions in many different types.

Now, fans can see what a Normal-type Eevee evolution might look like thanks to Reddit user KikiMongoose, who shared an image of their design forone of the most iconic Pokemon everto the series' official subreddit. The design, which the user named Ordinareon, imagines Eevee as if it evolved into a stronger Pokemon but retained its original Normal type and took on a more mouselike appearance rather than its fox-like original look.
Pokemon Fan’s Alternate Eeevee Evolution Sparks Discussion Online
The fan even came up with their own evolution method for the Pokemon, stating that it evolves after its trainer feeds it a sandwich containing nothing but cheese or ingredients derived from it, likely as a reference to its rodent-like design. The user createda shiny form for the Pokemonas well, with a darker bronze color across its body as opposed to its original light grey appearance.
Of course, the new Eevee type is just one of many attempts to give the popular Pokemon a new evolutionary form, as numerous fans have taken on the task in the past as well, resulting in a wide array of unofficial Eevee designs across all different types. The last time Eevee saw a new form in the series officially waswhen Sylveon debuted inPokemon XandYand took on the Fairy type; one of many new additions to the sixth generation ofPokemongames.
In any case, the design serves as just one of many alternate versions of Eevee that fans have come up with as the Pokemon continues leaving the fanbase hoping for more evolutions in the future. Since “Eeveelutions” are such a longstanding tradition within the series, and it has been over a decade since the last one made its debut, manyPokemonfans are eagerly awaiting to see if new entries might bring new Eevee forms as well.
