Summary
Pokemon GOhas announced that wild spawns will soon increase. This change finally addresses recurring feedback from the community, which for years has been asking thePokemon GOdevelopers to increase the frequency with which it is possible to encounter pocket monsters.
The main gameplay element ofPokemon GOis finding new creatures in the real world, but they don’t always appear as often as players would like. One part of the community that makes persistent complaints about this is players in rural areas, who feel neglected by the developers in different respects. But this complaint extends to players in general, who would like tosee a buff toPokemon GO’s wild spawns, bringing the game closer to its initial premise of finding new critters in the wild.

Niantic has finally responded to one of the community’s most recurring requests, revealing that it will increase wild encounters inPokemon GO. According to the announcement, Pokemon will appear more often in rural, densely populated, suburban, or rapidly expanding areas. With this, the devs expect an increase in spawns and the number of areas in which creatures appear. The devs will release the update in the lead-up to thePokemon GO Tour: Unova, but the official blog post didn’t give an exact date for when the patch will be released.
Pokemon GO Starts 2025 Revealing Important Changes
The announcement of the Road to Unova event didn’t just reveal the increase in wild spawns, but thatPokemon GOwill soon get a visual change to the Pokedex. The text says that the change will help players more easily identify which Pokemon they already have, and which ones they still need to catch. Players previously spotted the new Pokedex in the trailer forPokemon GO’s Dual Destiny season. The trailer showed a screen on which the pocket monsters appear divided by region, how many the player has already captured from each region, and the total count of Pokemon in the player’s Pokedex.
Although it didn’t reveal the exact date of when Pokemon wild encounters will increase, the announcement is great news forPokemon GOplayers. After all, it comes when the calendar for the next few weeks already has exciting events confirmed, or in progress. One is the debut of Dynamax Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, available until February. In addition to the GO Tour: Unova,Pokemon GO’s Lunar New Year eventwill take place from January 29 to February 2. Other February events with details yet to be revealed include Small Yet Strong, Beloved Buddies, and Community Day.
