Niantic announced the upcomingPokemon GO"Beloved Buddies" event will mark the debut of Ghost/Grass-type Pokemon Dhelmise in the popular mobile game.Pokemon GOplayers will be able to encounter Dhelmise in raids, catch Shiny Pokemon more frequently, and take advantage of numerous event bonuses for a limited time.
February 2025 is packed with limited-time events inPokemon GO, including the next Community Day and Hoopa Unbound Raid Day. These upcoming events will offer Field Research tasks and other opportunities to earn additional rewards like boosted XP gains and Candy drops. With the Small Yet Strong event on the horizon, Niantic revealed all the details about the Beloved Buddies event that’s scheduled to begin after Small Yet Strong ends on February 8.

Dhelmise will be the featured Pokemon for thePokemon GOBeloved Buddies event, which lasts from Tuesday, February 11, at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, July 13, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Dhelmise will appear in three-star raids alongside Slowbro and Hippowdon, but it’s worth noting that there will not be a Shiny Dhelmise during the event. Similarly toPokemon GO’sCommunity Day events, various event bonuses will be available, including double XP for catching Dhelmise and other Pokemon, Lure Modules that last for an hour, and 500 additional Stardust for catching Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Cutiefly, and Fomantis. Nidoran, Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Remoraid, Mantine, Plusle, Minun, Volbeat, Illumise, and Cutiefly will appear more often in the wild as well.
Moreover,Mega Tyranitar will return toPokemon GOin the Beloved Buddies event, and various one-star and five-star raids will be available featuring Shellder, Dwebble, Skrelp, and Enamorus (Incarnate Forme). Tandemaus is also featured in the Beloved Buddies event as a Field Research-exclusive Pokemon. Players can complete Beloved Buddies-themed Field Research tasks to encounter Tandemaus and earn additional rewards, including more Stardust. More rewards are up for grabs at PokeStop Showcases during the event as well.
Before Beloved Buddies begins, players may catch Karrablast and Shelmet during thePokemon GOFebruary 2025 Community Dayevent. Not only can players catch a Shiny Karrablast or Shiny Shelmet, but catching either Pokemon and evolving them before February 16 grants a Karrablast or Shelmet that knows an exclusive Charged Attack. The upcoming Community Day event also offers triple XP and double Candy drops, so players will have a great opportunity to prepare for Beloved Buddies and its many raids.
