Niantic first announced thePokemon GOJanuary 2025 Community Day detailsback in December. In the blog post, Niantic mentioned the price of the ticket would be $2, which is twice the amount it was previously. Fans initially thought that it was just a typo and the ticket would be available for its regular $1 price when it was released. However, the Community Day ticket went live in the game recently, and it seems like Niantic has indeed doubled the price of the ticket. As a result, fans are quite unhappy with the price increase, and many are stating that they will skip the event altogether.

Pokemon GO Fans Unhappy About Community Day Ticket Price Increase

ThePokemon GOSprigatito Community Dayticket price increase hasn’t been received well by fans. It seems like the price increase is due to the inclusion of three encounters with Sprigatito that have Dual Destiny–themed Special Backgrounds, as that seems to be the only new aspect of the event. However, fans aren’t entirely sold on the idea of spending a dollar extra to get a background inPokemon GO, as many think they don’t add much value to the game to begin with.

Additionally, fans also think that this was probably the worst Community Day to increase the price of the ticket. This is due to the fact that the January 2025 Community Day features Sprigatito, whose final evolution, Meowscarada, isn’t a great option in the GO Battle League or raids. Players usually buy tickets to have a better chance to get Pokemon with high IV, such ashundos inPokemon GO, and with Meowscarada not being a viable choice for both PvP and PvE, it seems like a lot of players might refrain from buying the ticket altogether.
