These Spotlight Hour events happen every week, on Tuesday, highlighting one Pokemon that is the center of attention for the day, allowing players the chance to get a Shiny of the Pokemon or even more candies for that select Pokemon. Here is everything to know about the Spotlight Hour for this week.
Paldean Wooper Spotlight Hour Guide
For this week onJanuary 21st, 2025 from 6 PM to 7 PM.With this week players can expect to get2x Catch Candyas a bonus for participating in the Spotlight Hour. With this bonus, players can expect to evolve the Paldean Wooper fully and even get a chance to get thisPokemon as a shiny. With this upcoming event, the players should always stock up on Pokeballs, Incense, and Berries for this event to help increase the chances of getting a shiny for this Pokemon. It is important to note to all players that this Pokemon is different from the original Wooper, but it is apart from the same family. The Paldean Wooper is the same as the Wooper but just brown instead of blue.
The Paldean Wooper is number #0194 within the Pokedex and is from the Johto Generation 2. Catching this Pokemon will give the player 3 Candies and 100 Stardust but with the bonus for Spotlight Hour, the player can expect to get 6 Candies and 100 Stardust. Paldean Wooper evolves into Clodsire for only 50 candies. Also, Paldean Wooper is found to be a Poison-Type and Ground-Type Pokemon. This means it is weak against Ground-Type, Ice-Type, Psychic-Type, and Water-Type (160% more damage). Takes reduced damage from Bug-type, Fairy Type, Fighting Type, and Rock-Type (63% reduced damage). Lastly, Electric-Type andPoison-Type (39% reduced damage). The Paldean Wooper has much lower stats than other Pokemon with only 725 CP (Combat Power), 75 ATK (Attack), and 66 DEF (Defense).
The best moveset for this Pokemon is Poison Jab (Poson Attack) and Body Slam (Normal Attack) for 3.91 DPS (Damage Per Second) and 21.95 TDO (Total Damage Output) and can be boosted when Paldean Wooper is in Cloudy and Partly Cloudy Weather.
The shiny version of Paldean Wooper can be found during this event. There are some differences betweenthe original Pokemon and the Shiny. The first difference is the color change. The original Pokemon is brown while the Shiny has a purple body. The second and last difference is that the bones in the original Pokemon are white, while the shiny has a very light pink look.
