In fact,Pokemonlore seems to have Metapod directly transform into Butterfree, adding a degree of real-world insect metamorphosis.

Fans are lauding the featured concept of the piece, with one managing to point out Celebi in the distance, whose silhouette would’ve looked vastly different hadCelebi’s original design stayed intact.
