Ubisoft has revealed the complete patch notes of the Rainbow Six Siege Y9S4.2 update. The biggest change in the update has been the buffs made to Sledge. Sledge’s movement speed has been increased at the cost of his health, something fans have been asking for a long time now. While Sledge is a handy soft-breacher, it needs to be close to the barrier to break it, and his slow movement speed made it extremely difficult to avoid being targeted. With this change, Sledge might become one of themost popular attackers inRainbow Six Siege.

While the Sledge buff is definitely a welcome change, another notable change is the one made to Kapkan. Kapkan will no longer have the C4, aka Nitro Cell, which has left many fans perplexed. Many thought that it was one of the crucial items required for playing as Kapkan, as it could help players easily finish off enemies that survived the EDDs. The Nitro Cell’s replacement, Barbed Wires, has turned out to be even more controversial, as many think that it provides very little utility to Kapkan’s existing kit. In fact, some even noted that using Barbed Wires is quite counter-intuitive as it will expose the EDDs much more easily. Kapkan has been one of thebest trap operators inRainbow Six Siege, and it will be interesting to see how this change affects his popularity.

One of the changes that has sparked a debate in the community is the removal of Ram’s secondary weapon, ITA12S. While some think it was rightly removed as it added too much to her kit, others think that it was quite useful for hatches. Another much-requested change that the developers have made is the nerf to Vigil, with his weapon’s damage drop-off tweaked to align with other Shotguns. Apart from that, a plethora of other tweaks were also made to other weapons and Operators. It remains to be seen how these changes affect theRainbow Six Siegemeta.
