Former Nintendo of America’s President Praises Astro Bot

I have to admit it, Astro Bot almost outdid Nintendo at its own game.

While some people may have been surprised to seeAstro Botwinning the GOTY, the game has been showing an incredible track record in award shows since then.Astro Botwon over 100 Game of the Year awards, becoming the most-awarded platformer in history, surpassing the previous record held byIt Takes Two. While it’s not as many awards asBaldur’s Gate 3orThe Last of Us Part 2, which currently stand at 288 and 326 Game of the Year wins respectively, it’s an incredible number.

Since the win,Astro Bothas continued to keep its experience fresh by adding more content for the player base. Not only didAstro Botrecently gain several Speedrun levels, with the latest one being announced recently at the PlayStation Tournaments XP event, but there arerumors thatAstro Botcould get even more content soon. According to a now-deleted tweet from Arrowhead Game Studios boss Johan Pilestedt, some new bots could be added toAstro Botsoon, including one dressed asTekkenantagonist Heihachi. Obviously, these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, as there’s still no official confirmation from Team Asobi or Sony.
