Summary

While there have beenseveral antagoniststhroughout theResident Evilgames, by far the most recognizable is Albert Wesker. Wesker has proven to be a pretty despicable and ruthless individual during his many appearances in the series and has gained such an infamous reputation that even those characters who have never met him are well aware of who he is, and why he is considered so dangerous.

Needless to say, everyone has their own opinions of Wesker, but most characters come to hate his guts, sometimes for their own personal reasons, other times because they simply want to see him and his bioterror schemes taken down once and for all. Out of the entire cast though, these are the characters who harbor the most hatred for the iconic villain known as Albert Wesker.

Once Alexia awakens from her slumber near the end ofCode Veronica’sstory, she becomes animmensely powerful beingwho is able to burn down the entire Palace just by walking through it. One character who does step up to her though is Wesker, who brashly asserts that he will take the T-Veonica virus from her body by killing her. This causes Alexia to insult Wesker, claiming he’s not “worthy” of the virus' power, before then trying to swat him away with a barrage of flames.

Alexia is clearly trying to talk down to Wesker at this point and shows signs of being frustrated by his bold words. What makes Wesker even more of an annoyance for her though is how he is able to run across the walls to dodge her attacks, and even manages to land a hit on Alexia in the process, forcing him to escape the Palace before things get too ugly.

7Claire Redfield

A Brief Skirmish In Code Veronica Highlights How Much Claire Dislikes Wesker

Though Claire and Wesker don’t interact with one another much in the series, there is one particular confrontation they have inCode Veronicawhich shows how they truly feel about one another. Just as Claire is about to step intoAlfred’s Palace, Wesker appears out of nowhere and starts to strangle Claire, telling her up-front that he is looking for her brother, all while throwing her around like a ragdoll.

Claire had less than nice things to say back to Wesker, which makes sense considering how dearly she cares for her brother. The whole reason Claire even tried to invade the Umbrella Facility at the beginning ofCode Veronicawas to save Chris, so her hatred for Wesker, who is trying to ruin her plans completely, is understandable.

Jake doesn’t exactly have a high opinion of his old man. Because Wesker abandoned Jake and his mother when Jake was still young, it means he never got to know his father or even his name. Wesker’s absence meant that Jake was forced to fight on the streets as a mercenary to keep things going for him and his mother, leading him to show extreme animosity towards the man who seemingly had no care in the world for his own son.

It’s uncertain how Jake would react if he were able to meet Wesker for the first time, but one thing that thearrogant mercdoes make clear throughoutResident Evil 6is he can never forgive his pops for walking away so easily, leaving Jake to fend for himself as a result.

At the very beginning ofResident Evil 5, Sheva is completely unaware of the long history betweenher new partner, Chris, and his longtime rival, Albert Wesker. Throughout the adventure, though, she is able to witness first-hand just how dangerous Wesker actually is, especially when he starts rambling on about using Uroboros to create a ‘new’ and ‘better’ world, wiping out millions of people in the process.

Pair this with Chris' constant monologs about how Wesker cannot be trusted and is more than willing to take over the world, and it’s no surprise Sheva took so much glee at taking him down at the very end, considering how much hate she would garner for him by that point.

Throughout the firstResident Evilgame, slowly but surely, all ofWesker’s misdeedsbecome revealed to the S.T.A.R.S members, one of whom was most directly affected by his schemes being Barry. In order to make sure Barry would comply, Wesker decided to kidnap his family and use them as a form of blackmail, forcing Barry to follow his every command.

As shown much later inRevelations 2, this caused Barry to hate Wesker with a burning passion. Even when Natalia mistakes Alex Wesker for Albert in that game, Barry can’t help but mutter to himself just how much he would love to get his hands on Albert, that is, if he was even still alive.

3Lisa Trevor

One Of Wesker’s Many Unfortunate Experiment Victims

Lisa Trevor may look like a grotesque monster when she shows up in the catacombs of the Spencer Mansion, but the truth is, this poor young girl only looks this way because of the atrocious experiments conducted on her by Wesker and his cronies. Lisa’s life would be completely ruined because of Wesker, with her being forcibly separated from her family and becoming a throwaway B.O.W. who would be forced to roam the underground of the mansion after she was abandoned.

Moments before the mansion self-destructs, Lisa recognizes Wesker and tries to take him down, but after a chandelier lands on her and pins her down, her torturer manages to escape in one piece. Though it can be hard for her to express given her mutated appearance, Lisa holds an intense hatred for the man who made her life a living hell.

2Jill Valentine

Jill Was Brainwashed Into Becoming Wesker’s Personal Bodyguard

While Jill would already come to despise Wesker after the events of the first game, their interactions with one another wouldn’t stop there. BeforeResident Evil 5takes place, Chris and Jill end up cornering Wesker in an estate, which ends in Jill sacrificing herself by launching Wesker out of a window, seemingly killing them both in the process.

However, Wesker not only survived the ordeal but would also go on to brainwash Jill with a unique device that was implanted into her chest. Though she would eventually come back to her senses after some help from Chris and Sheva, in the canonDeath Islandmovie, Jill shows just how much she despises Wesker for using her against her own friends, and the mental toll it’s taken on her.

1Chris Redfield

These Two Rivals Make It No Secret How Much They Hate One Another

They may have once been on the same side a very long time ago, but after Chris exposed Wesker’s schemes in the Spencer Mansion, getting him ‘killed’ in the process, these two have been mortal enemies. InCode Veronica, Wesker and Chris face off numerous times, with Chris promising that he will take down the maniacal scientist once and for all, something he eventually manages to achieve by the very end ofResident Evil 5.

Wesker has taken a lot from Chris over the years, but his one most unforgivable sin was forcing Jill to sacrifice herself before the events of the fifth game, and then manipulating her mind. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Chris, encouraging him to put an end to Wesker’s antics so that he couldn’t continue to spread any more suffering. As seen inResident Evil 6, though, Chris doesn’t carry this same hatred towards Wesker’s children, showing that the final rocket launcher to Wesker’s head was enough to satisfy Chris' underlying hatred for him.
