One of 2024’s most notable PS5 exclusives,Rise of the Ronin, has been confirmed for a PC release in the next couple of months. Alongside the PC release date, publisher Koei Tecmo also revealed a comprehensive list of exclusive features thatRise of the Roninwill support on the platform.
Developed by Team Ninja,Rise of the Roninwas first announced in September 2022 and launched exclusively for PS5 in March 2024. The open-world action RPG is set during the Bakumatsu period of Japan, more precisely 1863, and immerses players in a story centered around the prelude to the Boshin War.Rise of the Ronindebuted with favorable critical receptionon PS5, scoring a 76 on review aggregator Metacritic. Sales numbers forRise of the Roninwere never officially announced, but it did rank third on the Japanese physical game sales charts during its launch week.
Rise of the Ronin’s open-world designand combat mechanics were appreciated by many PS5 players, and PC users will soon be able to get in on the action as well. Koei Tecmo recently published a trailer announcing thatRise of the Roninwill be available on PC starting June 04, 2025. The trailer itself is for theSteam version ofRise of the Ronin, and no mention of an Epic Games Store release has been made just yet. Interestingly, PlayStation isn’t publishingRise of the Ronin’s PC port like it did for the PS5 version, with Koei Tecmo instead taking over as the game’s publisher on PC.

Speaking of the port itself,Rise of the Roninbrings with it an extensive suite of goodies for PC players, like support for up to 8K and 120fps, ray tracing features, ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitor support, 3D audio, and more. Popular image upscalers like AMD FSR, Nvidia DLSS, and Intel XeSS will also besupported byRise of the Roninon PC. Those impressed by the feature list can pre-orderRise of the Roninon Steam right now for$49.99, and Team Ninja will also offer bonus content to players who purchase the game before April 2, namely four additional combat styles, and the Iga Ninja armor set and katana.
The announcement ofRise of the Ronin’s PC port comes amid a busy week for Team Ninja. The Japanese developer revealed thelong-awaitedNinja Gaiden 4and shadow-dropped theNinja Gaiden 2 Blackremaster at Xbox’s Developer Direct 2025 presentation last week. Team Ninja has undoubtedly accrued a lot of positive traction in recent memory, and it should be interesting to see if the excitement could help boostRise of the Ronin’s PC sales.
