Summary

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocketmay have secretly revealed a couple of Pokemon Tool cards the development team plans to bring to the mobile card battler. While there has been no official word from the developers ofPokemon Trading Card Game Pocketyet, there’s a new theory that Focus Sash and Leftovers will be coming to the game in the near future.

A little over a week ago, more than 150 new cards were added throughPokemon TCG Pocket’sSpace-Time Smackdown expansion, which launched between January 29-30 depending on time zone. Two new booster packs are now available, with Palkia and Dialga as the cover stars, and the expansion focuses on Gen 4 Pokemon while also adding in a few totally new mechanics to the game.

One of these mechanics isPokemon TCG Pocket’sPokemon Tools, trainer cards that can be attached to Pokemon in the active spot or on the bench, providing special bonuses like extra HP or a damage penalty to opponents for attacking the Pokemon to which the tool is equipped. So far, only the Lum Berry, Giant Cape, and Rocky Helm have been added, but one theory shared by Reddit user ZanderAndBass indicates that two more Pokemon Tools are on their way, those being the Focus Sash and Leftovers. Both of these cards currently exist as Pokemon Tools in the physical version of the popular trading card game, with the former saving the holder from a knockout if it receives an attack while at full HP, and the latter granting a boost of 20 HP to the holder every time the controlling player’s turn ends.

Pokemon TCG Pocket May Add Focus Sash and Leftovers

This fan developed their theory based on a Chimchar backdrop that was added to the in-game Limited Time/Events shop on February 7 for the latestPokemon TCG PocketWonder Pickevent, which runs through February 21. The backdrop features stylized depictions of Chimchar’s face surrounded by other icons, including what appears to be an apple core, a belt, and a bunch of bananas, which correspond to Leftovers, a Focus Sash, and a Nanab Berry from thePokemongames, respectively. The physical version of the trading card game currently has no corresponding Nanab Berry card, but the developers may be teasing that the other two items could make their way into future expansions.

The prospect of Leftovers coming to the game leaves some fans with a sense of dread. Stall tactics are becoming increasingly popular in the mobile card battler, with the high use ofPokemon TCG PocketDruddigon decksand other recently added high HP cards like Regirock and Registeel sitting in active slots soaking up damage while cards on the bench power up with energy and evolution cards. Many fans have been feeling put out by opponents' stall tactics, and adding Leftovers could worsen the problem.
