Summary
TheHarry Potterseries is no stranger totragic deaths, and at no point are the main characters or loveable sidekicks safe.Hogwarts Legacycontinues this trend, and in fact, there is a death almost immediately at the beginning of the story. Admittedly, most players also rack up a high kill count during their time fighting bandits in the countryside, as well as a few major bosses.
On top of evil enemies meeting their arguably deserved end, there were a number of innocent and brave deaths inHogwarts Legacy. Many of these made for incredibly sad moments, and one particularly dark moment that few could have predicted.

5George Osric
Killed By A Dragon Controlled By Ranrok
While the death at the start ofHogwarts Legacywasn’t the saddest, seeing as players hadn’t had time to form any kind of a connection with George, it was certainly surprising and set the tone for the remainder of the story. George Osric was a high-ranking representative ofthe Ministry of Magic, and was investigating a magical artifact at the behest of Miriam Fig.
Accompanying Eleazar Fig and the main character to Hogwarts, he discussed the relic, and just as the player proved able to open the artifact, a dragon attacked, swallowing George whole. The fact that the main character was immediately able to see the Thestrals pulling their carriage left no doubt that they had just witnessed death, a terrible thing to see on your first day at a new school.

4Lodgok
Killed By His Brother Ranrok
Lodgok, was the brother ofHogwarts Legacy’smain villain Ranrok, and initially supported his goblin rebellion. However, upon meeting and being treated as an equal by Miriam Fig, and also seeing his brother’s true intentions, Lodgok abandoned the rebellion.
Later, Lodgok would go one step further as he agreed to aid the main character in their quest to put a stop to Ranrok. His plan was to infiltrate the rebellion by pretending to have forgiven his brother, and then to destroy it from within. However, on one such mission to recover an ancestor’s journal, Lodgok and the player are found by Ranrok and his loyalists. The ensuing confrontation sadly ended with Ranrok killing his own brother, calling him a traitor.
3Soloman Sallow
Killed By Sebastian Sallow
The quest lines following Sebastian Sallow’s journey toward darkness are arguably the highlight of the game story-wise, and seeing the impact on the entire Sallow family is terribly sad. Few could have predicted just how dark things could get, however, as Sebastian’s fragile relationship with his Uncle Solomon took a nasty turn.
In an attempt to dissuade his nephew from using the Dark Arts to save his sister, the two eventually fought in a duel that included the main character. Upon winning the duel, Sebastian cast Avada Kedavra on his Uncle, killing him instantly. Sebastian immediately regretted his decision, dropping his wand, and to his horror, his sister Anne appeared and had witnessed his actions. Therefore, in just a few moments Sebastian, an orphan, lost the only family he had left.
2Professor Eleazar Fig
Killed By Falling Debris Caused By Ranrok
Professor Eleazar Fig is the first character the player meets, and not only a guiding figure throughout the game, but a friend too. In many ways, he was as to the main character as Dumbledore was to Harry, and unfortunately, he met a similarly tragic end in the fight against evil. Eleazar Fig, in normal times simply the professor of Magical Theory, was following up on his wife’s research into Ancient Magic, which was sadly cut short by her death.
Fig’s and the player’s investigations and adventures eventually led them to fight Ranrok, the leader of a goblin rebellion and murderer of his wife, who had turned into a dragon-like beast beneath the castle of Hogwarts. Although they were victorious indefeating Ranrok, the cavern collapsed and Professor Fig was hit by falling rocks. This turned a moment of triumph into one of great sorrow, and the year at Hogwarts ended with a moving eulogy in memory of a teacher who had died for his school.
1Tobbs The House-Elf
Killed By An Acromantula As A Result Of His Master’s Cruelty
When players gain access to the Room of Requirement inHogwarts Legacy, they will meet a House-elf named Deek, who is free and happy. However, Deek will eventually tell the player that he used to be owned by a cruel master, and that he’s worried about one of his friends who is still enslaved.
Upon finding Spinners Cave where Tobbs was known to be working, they will discover a string of letters that paint a harrowing picture. Tobbs was to be deprived of food for failing to meet his quota of Leech Juice and was also told to punish himself. Already, this creates a sense of dread. As players delve deeper into the spider-infested cave, their hope for Tobbs fades, and eventually they will find his body and an unfinished apology written by the poor House-elf to his master. Evidently, he was bitten by an acromantula and died from poison. Players then have the unfortunate task of delivering the terrible news to Deek.
