Summary

It’s almost a rare occurrence these days to come across someone who hasn’t watched the incredibleApple TV+series,Severance, but it seems as though one of the show’s main stars hasn’t gotten around to seeing any of it. With only days away from its season two premiere, the hit sci-fi TV series has had fans hooked on its strange and eerie storylines since it aired on June 08, 2025.

Created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller,Severancetells the story of widower and former professor Mark Scout, played by Adam Scott, an employee of the Lumon Industries corporation who agrees to a “severance” procedure in which his non-work “outie” memories are separated from his “innie” work memories. While Mark eventually deals with the suspension that Lumon isn’t as helpful as they say they are, his other colleagues go through their own trials and tribulations with their severed selves. It’s been a long, almost three-year wait for fans of the show, but it looks as though season two could offer up answers to many of season one’s mysterious questions, which might include thedisappearance of Ms Caseyand what’s going on with those goats.

Severance Star John Turturro Says He’s Never Watched the Show

In aSeverancecast interview withComicbook, John Turturro reveals that it has been easy for him not to disclose any spoilers from the show as he just simply hasn’t watched it. When asked about their press tour and trying to avoid giving too much away in interviews, Turturro said that it was easy for him, stating “I haven’t seen the show, so I’m really an innocent here.” The otherSeveranceco-starshad a different story to tell with Britt Lower, who plays Helly, saying that not giving away spoilers is super tricky. “It’s an obstacle course that we’re going through on our press tour.” Zach Cherry, who plays Dylan, had a pretty simple take on it all when he gets asked difficult questions and is afraid of revealing too much. “I just play dumb. I don’t even know, I don’t remember. We don’t remember anything we did at work, we were severed.” he replied, laughing.

It could be that Turturro was referring to not having watched season two ofSeveranceregarding spoilers and may have misspoken, but regardless, many actors have revealed that they hate to watch themselves on the big screen, so it’s understandable if this is the same for the seasoned actor. Turturro’s most recent role, other than that of Irving inSeverance, was portraying Carmine Falcone in Matt Reeves’The Batman. Since then, the long-running actor has starred inThe Room Next Door, Mr & Mrs Smith, and the voice of Dottore inGuillermo del Toro’sPinocchio.
