In theSolo Levelinganime, Sung Jin-Woo’s rise from the weakest hunter to a top-tier hunter is not only marked by the monsters he kills in the dungeons but also by the humans he is forced to kill along the way. During dungeon raids in theSolo Levelingseries, betrayal is common, and most times, the strong always prey on the weak without hesitation. For Jin-Woo, killing humans when the system forces him to do so was not a choice he made lightly. However, in the series, when the decision is to choose between himself and any deranged hunter, he always chooses himself.
3Hwang Dongsuk’s Group
The Deadly Set-Up In The Dungeon
In the series, Hwang Dongsuk’s group made the mistake of underestimating Jin-Woo, believing him to be nothing more than an expendable weakling. Their setup insidethe C-rank dungeonshould have been a death sentence for Jin-Woo, but instead, it became the stage for their execution. Dongsuk group are C-rank hunters who deliberately invite Jin-Woo and another low-rank hunter, Joon Jinho, to join them under the pretense of needing support. In reality, Jin-Woo and Jinho were nothing more than pawns to help them clear the dungeon and keepthe essence stonesfor themselves. As the eight hunters proceeded into the dungeon, they fought with small-fry beasts until they found the boss’s cave. When Dongsuk and his party realize most of the essence stones lie in the boss’s cave, they seal off the cave exit to ensure Jin-Woo and Jinho do not escape. They planned to hurl out the essence stones from another exit as the boss of the dungeon feasts on Jin-Woo and Jinho. After all, whatever happens in the dungeon stays there, so no one will ever find out about their atrocities.
Moreover, after Jin-Woo defeated the spider boss in the dungeon, Dongsuk and his party left their hiding to finish them off. Since Jin-Woo and Jinho are low-rank hunters, they pose no threat. Jin-Woo’s leveling system sees Dongsuk’s party as a hindrance and forces Jin-Woo to kill them. In this way, Jin-woo had no choice but to kill them to level up, but there is a high probability that Jin-Woo would have just hurt them so he and Jinho could leave the dungeon. The system, however, upgraded Jin-woo to a bloodthirsty maniac, and as Dongsuk’s men rushed at him, expecting an easy kill, Jin-Woo moved faster than they could react and killed them all. After everything, Jin-Woo and Jinho were the last men standing.

2Kang Taeshik
The Face-off Against The Slayer
The face-off between Jin-Woo and Taeshiktook place during a prisoner transport dungeon raid, a type of mission where criminals who were also hunters were sent into dungeons as disposable labor. Taeshik is a member of the Hunter Association and an escort for three dangerous criminals. His role in the raid is to put those prisoners to order and ensure they do not escape. Coupled with Taeshik, the prisoners, and Jin-Woo; there are also four other hunters, and two of them are hunters Jin-Woo survivedthe Double Dungeonordeal with− Song Chi-Yul and a healer, Lee Joohee. Altogether, eight hunters went on this raid, but the event quickly turned sour.
During the raid, the prisoners, who were supposedly dangerous criminals, were brutally executed by Taeshik instead of being allowed to fight the dungeon beasts. The father of the daughter the prisoners killed begs Taeshik to kill them to avenge his daughter’s death. However, Taeshik is just a psychopath who enjoys killing. In the cause of killing these prisoners, Taeshik was found out by two other hunters, but he also killed them to cover up his crime. Afterward, Taeshik turned his attention to Jin-Woo, Joohee, and Chi-Yul. When it becomes clear thatthe danger in the dungeon is Taeshik, not the monsters, Jin-Woo steps in to protect the remaining hunters.
Kang Taeshik realized that Jin-Woo wasn’t like the other weak hunters, and for the first time, he felt threatened.
At this moment, the system has automatically upgraded Jin-Woo into his bloodthirsty mode. Taeshik used his superhuman speed and assassination skills to try and ambush Jin-Woo, believing that a quick, lethal strike would finish him. The fight between Jin-Woo and Kang Taeshik was fast, brutal, and decisive.Jin-Woo’s heightened senses and player-like abilitiesallowed him to predict Taeshik’s movements, and he chose the right moment to strike a deathly blow on Taeshik.
1Kim Chul
The Ice Region Battle
Jin-Woo went ona dungeon raidwith Kim Chul, an A-rank hunter, and eight other hunters. The simple raid turned dangerous when the C-rank dungeon turned into a red gate. Red Gates represents a death sentence for any hunter unlucky enough to get trapped inside. Unlike the regular gates, which are predictable, red gates are a one-way prisonwhere, once a hunter steps inside, the exit only disappears until the dungeon is cleared. Jin-Woo and the others find themselves in the Ice Elves and Ice Bears region, allowing him to level up. However, Kim Chul divides the group into two, keeping the strong members with him and the weaker members with Jin-Woo.
During the raid, the ice elves easily killed all the hunters with Kim Chul, and he fled the scene in fear. As Kim Chul scampered through the forest, he found the other hunters with Jin-Woo hale and hearty, which made him angry. Hence, he blamed his defeat on a member of Jin-Woo’s team for keeping equipment (tent, food, and clothing) to themselves while his party died unjustly. At this moment,Jin-Woo was already facing off against ice elvesand called out his shadow hunters to help in the battle. Kim Chul blamed Jin-Woo for his misfortune and planned to kill him. As the battle against the elves raged on, Kim Chul found an opening to kill Jin-Woo, but the moment he let his guard down,Igris’s spearimpaled him through the chest. His last expression was pure terror and regret, realizing too late that his cowardice had led him to a worse fate. Jin-Woo activated his necromancer ability and raised him as a shadow soldier to serve him forever.
