Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the latest installment from the franchise, highlighted four characters –Sonic the Hedgehog(Ben Schwartz), Tails/Miles Prower (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), Knuckles the Echidna (Idris Elba) and Shadow the Hedgehog (Keanu Reeves). One of theSonic 3actors aired their interest in doing a spinoff for their character’s backstory.
O’Shaughnessey recently spoke with ComicBook about her character from the popular franchise –Miles “Tails” Power.Paramount hasn’t announced any spinoffs yet, but O’Shaughnessey has expressed enthusiasm for a possible project for Tails. “I think you could absolutely do a spinoff with Tails,” she suggested. “An origin story for Tails would be amazing, to see where he came from… a little baby Tails. I would love it.” She also shared what she loved most about Tails. Apparently, it’s his character.
He’s adorable. He’s smart, he’s clever, he’s earnest, he’s loyal… he’s your best friend, always. What you see is what you get. There’s no surreptitiousness… he’s not sneaking around, he’s not trying to get something out of you. What you see is what you get. And he’s just so dear. I just love him.
O’Shaughnessey clarified that she still wanted to see Tails with Sonic. However, it would be great to give fans a concrete narrative of Tails' rich backstory. “Is it of course amazing to have him with Sonic? For sure, because they are, you know… a sidekick/hero combination. They work so well together,” O’Shaughnessey added. “But I think it would be really neat to see where he came from. Why not?”
O’Shaughnessey and the rest of the cast members will return for afourthSonic the Hedgehogmovie. Although there were only four films, with the first one released in 2020, O’Shaughnessy has been part of the franchise much longer. She has already voiced Tails for over 10 years across video games and TV shows. So, her take on the character is definitely worth considering, given that she has been associated with it for more than a decade. Tails is among the beloved characters in theSonicfranchise since his introduction inSonic the Hedgehog 2in 1992. He is intelligent, curious and filled with enthusiasm. He is also relatable because he used to be too shy, so a spinoff could highlight his origins before he met Sonic and underscore his growth from being an inventor to a hero.

Additionally, they could include gadgets and machines in the spinoff to showcase Tails' expertise in problem-solving and invention, giving fans a fresh take on theSonicuniverse.
