Stardew Valley’s 1.6 updatewas long-awaited and largely celebrated by fans, but since its release on consoles and PC, a few issues have cropped up. A Reddit user named texas_toasty_ash has shared their frustration that their frogs have lost their individual colors.Stardew Valley’s trinket system allows players to have frog and fairy followers, and it looks like something’s gone awry with them. Texas_toasty_ash had their frogs collected in aquariums in their home, which included numerous colors, including the void and prismatic frogs. However, after booting up the freshly-updated game, all of the frogs had turned blue or green. Other players have reported the same thing, while others are noting that their fairies have lost their original color, level, or both. While the fairy problem is upsetting, the players who have customized frogs are especially upset, as changing a frog’s color requires Combat Mastery to get anAnvil, and then costs three Iridium Bars per attempt, with randomized results. Given the rarity ofIridium inStardew Valley, fans aren’t thrilled with this development.

Stardew Valley Players Should Take Care Regarding Trinkets

For those who haven’t yet updated the game, there may be a workaround for the frog problem. For whatever reason, players have reported that whileStardew Valleyfrog followersand those in aquariums have had their colors lost, those that were stored in chests seem to be fine. However, it doesn’t seem that there’s a workaround for fairies. Unlike frogs, which can be recolored with an Anvil, a fairy’s color is fixed and based upon a random number generated with the player’s save.

Stardew Valleyplayers on Switch who have frogs or fairies from aFrog EggorFairy Box, respectively, should consider either not updating the title or not playing it for a while. It’s not clear if the issue can be rolled back to restore the colors or levels that were lost. ConcernedApe, the game’s developer, is generally pretty quick about issuingemergency patches forStardew Valleyto amend issues that arise in the game, so with any luck, players don’t have to wait all too long for assistance.
