Summary
InIshura,the true Demon Lordwho has terrorized the world has been killed by a true hero. In his place, however, numerous individuals with destructive powers have appeared. These people are called the Shura, and depending on their allegiance, they can be a force for good or the second coming of the demon lord.
The Shuras come from different backgrounds; some are humans transported from another world, some come from non-human races, and some have extraordinary mastery in magic (also known as Word Arts). One thing’s for sure: These Shuras can easily destroy an entire city on their own.
9Regnejee the Sunset Wings
The Ruthless Wyvern Commander
Regnejee the Sunset Wings isa Wyvern that is responsible for the aerial defenseof the New Principality of Lithia. He has a huge swarm of Wyverns under his command, all ready to throw down their lives whenever Regnejee commands them to.
Regnejee’s biggest power comes from his devastating Word Arts and his ability as a commander. With his Word Arts, he can fire destructive beams that could easily destroy a whole battalion of Wyverns. With his ability as a commander, he can craft the perfect strategy that allows his army to win against any opponent. Unfortunately, Regnejee is mortally wounded by Alus the Star Runner in the Battle of Lithia. He loses his life at the hands of an Aureatia general soon after.
8Higuare the Pelagic
The Battle-Crazed Mandrake
Higuare the Pelagic isa Mandrake who gains a love of battlewhen he is captured and forced to fight as a gladiator for years. This is also the place where he honed his combat ability. Higuare himself doesn’t really have any desire or ambition. He is simply executing his master’s order and killing others before he gets killed.
Since Higuare is basically a living plant, he utilizes his branches just like human hands and fights with a sword. Since he can produce and extend these branches however he sees fit, Higuare can hold and control 42 swords at the same time. Furthermore, each sword is coated with a lethal poison that will kill upon contact, making him incredibly lethal in close-quarter combat. Higuare lost his life to Nastique the Quiet Singer.
7Nihilo the Vortical Stampede
An Eight-Legged Killing Machine
Nihilo the Vortical Stampede is an artificial human created by the Demon Lord as part of his biological weapon division. After the Demon Lord’s death, the Aureatian army hold Nihilo captive.
While Nihilo is certainly stronger than an average soldier, her strength comes into full display when she enters the cockpit of her signature weapon,a massive mechanical spidercalled Helneten the Burial. Helneten has enough power to destroy an entire building without leaving a scratch on its durable armor, and it can also shoot ultra-strong threads that can cut through anything. Nihilo lost her life to Dakai the Magpie at the Battle of Lithia.
6Dakai the Magpie
A Cunning and Tactical Bandit
Dakai the Magpie is a man who comes from another world. He may use an enchanted blade, but he never refers to himself as a swordsman. He prefers to be called a bandit. After all, while he is certainly deadly in a fight,Dakai shines the brightest as a spy. From infiltration to counterintelligence, he is the best when he works in the shadows.
Aside from his exceptional sword fighting skill, Dakai’s greatest strength is his high visual acuity and the ability to analyze and form the best tactic on the spot. With his eyes, he can see enemies hiding behind walls and even see the veins underneath the skin and layers of armor. Dakai lost his life to the ultimate sword master in the series, Soujiro the Willow Sword.
5Shalk the Sound Slicer
Shalk the Sound Slicer isan undead mercenarywho will fight for whoever is willing to pay for his service. He is part of the extraordinary individuals (Shuras) that the New Principality of Lithia gathered from around the world to aid in their upcoming war against Aureatia.
Shalk’s main weapon is a spear, and he is incredibly proficient with it. Apart from his lethal spear technique, what makes Shalk so dangerous is his speed. Even Soujiro the Willow Sword, one of the best melee fighters in the series, can’t keep track of his movement, which is why their fight ended in a draw.
4Alus the Star Runner
A Flying Magical Armory
Alus the Star Runner is a Wyvern who was born with a mutation that causes him to have bluish skin—as opposed to his brethren who have reddish skin—and additional limbs. Due to his differences, Alus has always been an outcast and never really had a sense of brotherhood with the other Wyverns.
Alus is the fastest Wyvern in the world by far. Nothing can match his full flying speed. That being said, Alus’ main strength comes from the deadly magic tools that he has collected from all over the world. Add to that his quick thinking and the ability to adapt to the enemy’s tactic, and he quickly becomes one of the most dangerous combatants in the world.
3Soujiro the Willow-Sword
A Powerful Swordsman from Another World
Soujiro the Willow-Sword is a man who comes from another world, just like Dakai the Magpie. He was part of the famed Yagyuu clan and a master of the Yagyu Shinkage-ryu. Soujiro doesn’t really care about war, heroes, or demon lords. All he wants to do is fight against a strong opponent who can make his blood boil.
Soujiro is a swordsman with unparalleled skill, inhuman speed, strength, and endurance to boot. But his greatest strength lies in his ability to instantly find the enemy’s weak point. Even amidst high-speed fights, Soujiro keeps on analyzing his opponent’s movement, weight distribution, fighting style, and any notable traits. This combination of extraordinary skills and superb innate abilities is what allows him to single-handedly destroy a colossal golem that can level an entire city with its laser beam.
2Nastique the Quiet Singer
The Silent Angel of Death
Kuze the Passing Disaster is known for his ability to kill any enemies who dare to stand in his way. The truth, however, is actually quite different. It’s not Kuze who killed all of those people; it’s the angel who always follows Kuze wherever he goes and protects him from anybody who wants to harm him. It’san angel of deathcalled Nastique the Quiet Singer.
As a being who lives on a higher plane than humans, Nastique cannot be perceived by a normal eye. The only one who can vaguely see her and feel her existence is Kuze himself. This invisibility alone is already a huge advantage, but Nastique’s greatest weapon is her weapon, a sword that can kill any living thing with a mere touch.
1Kia the World Word
The One Who Can Bend the Law of Physics
Nastique’s lethal power can easily earn her the title of the strongest Shura in the series. However, Nastique’s power can only bring death and nothing else.Kia the World Word, on the other hand, can do anything with her power. As mentioned earlier, the magic in the world ofIshurais woven through the words of its caster, which is why it is called Word Arts. Kia’s power, however, transcends the basic principle of the Word Arts. Every practitioner needs to cast a spell to activate their Word Arts, but Kia doesn’t need to do that. She can bend the laws of physics and even alter reality with her words.
She can instantly put people to sleep with the word “sleep,” clear the sky by telling the clouds to “clear away,” and even eliminate a powerful laser blast simply by uttering the word “disperse.” There’s no incantation needed, and there is no limit to what Kia can do with her power. That’s why she deserves the title of thestrongest character in the world ofIshura.
