As for the Magic Knight captains, every single one of them has the power to subjugate an entire town on their own. So as you’re able to see, there’s no shortage of great mages inBlack Clover.
However, none of these strong magic knights has a chance against the Supreme Demons, also known as the Qliphoth Demons due to their direct connection to the Tree of Qliphoth. At least not on their own. After all, a single Supreme Demon can bring a nation down to its knees. Interestingly enough, there are 8 known Supreme Demons inBlack Clover,and their strength level is quite varied. So with that in mind, here are the strongest demons inBlack Clover,ranked based on their power.
9Adramelech
The Demon Who Sees Everything
Adremelech is one of the supreme devils residing in the Underworld’s second-lowest level. Generally speaking,the lower a demon lives in the Underworld, the stronger it will be.So the fact that he lives in the second-lowest level is a confirmation of how powerful he truly is.
The only reason why Adramelech is at the bottom of this power list is simply because he hasn’t showcased his powers yet. Based on what we’ve seen thus far, he seems to be a chill demon who doesn’t mind helping Astaroth out with his sinister plan. Moreover, he prefers to observe everything from a distance rather than joining a heated battle. ConsideringBlack Cloverseems to be at its final phase right now, we might be able to see Adramelech flexing his power soon.
8Nahamah
The Demon Who Burns All
Nahamah and Lilith are the first supreme demons that appear inBlack Clover.They both reside in the first level of the Underworld. There’s no mention of these two being a twin or sibling, but they certainly act like one.
On top of raw strength that is greater than most humans, Nahamah commands the power of the Demon Fire Magic as well. This fire burns hotter than any normal fire magic. From the buildings in and around the Spade Kingdom to an intangible concept likeNacht’s shadow prison,his fire can burn through everything.
7Lilith
The Demon Who Freezes All
Although Nahamah and Lilith are two different demons with two different powers, they both behave like the same individual. They both like to play and torture their victim, and they find it amusing to see their prey scream in pain.
As the wielder of the Demon Ice Magic,Lilith can freeze everything, including intangible concepts like lights and shadows. However, the true power of Lilith and Nahama appears when they fuse into a single demon. In this form, they can unleash the demonic fire from their left side, and the power of demonic ice from the right side.
6Baal
The Demon Who Rules the Sky
Unlike Lilith and Nahamah, Baal doesn’t get the chance to manifest his body in the human realm, either through devil union like Megicula or a full-on summoning ritual like with Lilith and Nahamah. We only get to see Baal whenLucius Zogratis/Astarothinjects his soul into a magic knight named Damnatio Kira to create a new hybrid being called the Paladin.
Baal’s Air Magic can do everything that the common Air Magic can do, such as air blast or air blockade. But he also commands an advanced version of Air Magic called the Atmosphere Magic. With Atmosphere Magic, he can manipulate air pressure to the point of imploding his target, without having to lift a finger.
5Lucifugus
The Demon Who Carved Space
Lucifugus is another supreme demon that we only see in the final arc of the story where Lucius purified Lucifugus’s soul and imbued it into a magic knight named Morgan Faust to create a new being called the Paladins. We can briefly see his silhouette during Nacht’s flashback scenes. But other than that, we only get to see Lucifugus as a Paladin.
Lucifugus commands the Dark Magic. In a way, Lucifugus’s Dark Magic is a more powerful version ofYami Sukehiro’s Dark Magic.One of the main properties of Dark Magic that Lucifugus often used to wreak havoc on everything around him is the gravitational pull. Thanks to this, Luficugus’ Dark Magic can consume everything in its path. He can even carve the space itself if he wants.
4Megicula
The Demon Who Inflicts Curses
Three Supreme Demons rule the Underworldfrom its deepest level, Magicula is one of them. Interestingly enough, she is actually not part of the original trio, which consists of Beelzebub, Astaroth, and Lucifero. When Astaroth went missing without a trace, Magicula stepped up to fill this prestigious position instead. But even if she is not part of the original three, the fact that Megicula was accepted to be Astaroth’s replacement means that she is one of the most powerful demons in the Underworld.
Megicula’s magic is called the Curse-Warding Magic. This magic enables her to create any kind of curse and place it on anything and anyone. She can even put a curse on intangible objects like spells. And while she can easily use her curse to disintegrate a human’s body in seconds, she can also use a curse to heal herself.
3Beelzebub
The Demon Who Commands Space
Beelzebub is one of the three rulers of the Underworld. He appears as one of Lucius’ Paladins in the final arc of the series. Before that, Beelzebub formed a contract and lent his power to Zenon Zogratis, one of the Dark Triads from the Spade Kingdom.
Beelzebub is a master at Spatial Magic. He can use this magic to connect the space between two faraway places,just like most Spatial Magic users.However, his preferred method to use this magic is to create a special space that not only traps his opponents but also allows him to control everything inside it, including the mana itself. Nobody can enter or escape this space without the Beelzebub’s permission, and he basically has full control over anything within this space.
2Astaroth
The Demon Who Bends Time
Astaroth was one of the three rulers of the Underworld before he went missing and Megicula took his place. The reason he went missing was actually because Astaroth made a contract with Lucious Zogratis and his alter ego,the Wizard King Julius Novachrono.That’s why Julius can use Astaroth’s signature magic, the Time Magic.
As a master of Time Magic, Astaroth bends time to his will, reshaping it however he pleases. Stopping time, slowing it down, making the time run faster, or even creating a special domain where he can control the target’s time however he wants. There’s so much he can do with this magic. He can even accelerate time and instantly reduce any object to dust with a mere touch. That’s how fearsome the power of Time Magic can be.
1Lucifero
The King of Demons
Although he is named as one of the three rulers of the Underworld, Lucifero actually sits in a higher place than his compatriots, Astaroth and Beelzebub. The reason is simply because he has an absurd amount of mana and magic power flowing through his body, which makes him more powerful than the other two. That’s why Lucifero is giventhe title of the King of Demons.
Lucifero formed a contract with the oldest of the Dark Triads, Dante Zogratis, allowing this mortal man to use the King of Demons’ signature magic, the Gravity Magic. With Gravity Magic, the user can increase the weight of the target’s body to immobilize it while lightening his own body to the point of hovering in the sky. At its full power, the Gravity Magic can even create a mini black hole that will swallow everything in its path. Or he can simply unleash that black hole and it will suck everything in its surroundings.
Astaroth is arguably a way better fighter than Lucifero, both in terms of combat technique and the ability to formulate an effective strategy. However, when it comes to pure magic power,Lucifero is undeniably the most powerful one.The only reason why he lost in the series is because Lucifero never got the chance to fight with his full power. Had he fought with every last drop of his vast mana, the King of Demons would have annihilated all who dared to stand in his path. That’s why Lucifero is the strongest demon inBlack Clover.
