Super7 is a San Francisco-based company that started out as a magazine fortoy collectorsin 2001. It eventually turned to making toys based on various pop culture media. Its ever-growing product portfolio nowadays includes the Peanuts Collection, which incorporates a wide variety of merch based on the iconic comic strip starring Charlie Brown.
Super7 has now opted to add to this collection with yet another figure, which Game Rant can exclusively reveal. Called the Peanuts Super Cycle, the newly announced collectible is based on Joe Cool, an easygoing college student who’s one of Snoopy’s many alter egos. Much like its name implies, this piece ofSnoopy merchfeatures the anthropomorphic beagle on a tricycle, wearing Joe Cool’s red shirt and black sunglasses, with a suave smile on his face. The Peanuts Super Cycle will be available on January 30 viaSuper7’s online storefront, priced at $60.
Super7’s Newest Snoopy Figure Comes With a Working Tricycle
The tricycle that the new Snoopy figure is sitting on isn’t just for show. It features a working wind-up mechanism that doesn’t just drive the trike but also rings its integrated bell, attracting precisely the kind of attention that Joe Cool would approve of. The figure is five inches tall and made of soft vinyl, often termed “sofubi” in Japanese collectibles. Compared to a typical polyvinyl chloride (PVC) figure, its sofubi counterparts receive plasticizers during the production process, which make their material less rigid.
Sofubi offerings are often produced with something called slush molding, a process where the vinyl material is poured into a mold and swished around to coat the cast’s interior, with any excess liquid being poured out. This approach makes it possible to create hollow, lighter figures that can be slightly compressed, i.e., squeezed. The molding process can also yield a more textured surface compared to rigid vinyl figures, and is generally associated with more premium products—thekind of collectibles that Super7 specializes in.
Super7’s figures are generally available via a variety of stateside retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, and Best Buy. While it’s possible that the same will eventually hold true for the Peanuts Super Cycle, the toy manufacturer has yet to confirm its wider availability.
