A day after theSwitch 2 became official, Radhood announced thatSynth Beastswill be coming to Nintendo’s new console. The move also saw the studio commit to a concrete release window for the game, stating that its monster-taming ARPG is targeting a Q2 2025 launch. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, comprising a mixture of already shared and previously unseen gameplay footage.
Synth Beasts Will Be Available On All Major Consoles and PC
Besides Nintendo’s upcoming console, the trailer reveals thatSynth Beastswill also be available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. That’s in addition to its PC version, which was already confirmed back in 2023. PC gamers can currentlywishlistSynth Beastson Steam, while the ARPG’s pages on other storefronts are yet to go live. Radhood is planning a Kickstarter campaign that will allow the community to get involved in the final stretch of the game’s development. The crowdfunding project will launch sometime in Q1 2025.
As for the game itself,Synth Beastspromises an open-world experience that mixes action-packed combat with exploration. The day-one version of the game will have around 40 monsters, all of which will have abilities that will help players traverse the environment. More creatures might be added at a later date, depending on the success of the upcoming Kickstarter campaign. Beating the game once will unlock arandomizer featurethat’s meant to offer “infinite replayability.”
Nintendo Switch 2 Already Has Multiple Confirmed Indie RPGs
Synth Beastscoincidentally isn’t the first indie RPG that’s been announced for Nintendo’s upcoming console. That would beBestiario, aPersona-like title that’s also thefirst-ever game to be confirmed for the Switch 2. But whileSynth Beastsis already planned to materialize in Q2 2025,Bestiariois targeting a late 2026 launch. As for the Switch 2, the much-anticipated device is still without a release date, but with Nintendo scheduling device preview events all the way up to early June 2025, the console certainly won’t hit the market before then.
