Summary
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Timecould be getting PS4 and PS5 versions when it comes out this April. So far, the game has only been confirmed as a Nintendo Switch title, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted something that makes them think it may get a broader release. PlayStation users may get a chance to playFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, too.
The originalFantasy Lifewas a Nintendo exclusive, launching on the 3DS in Japan in 2012 before coming to the rest of the world in 2014. WhenLevel 5 announcedFantasy Life iin 2023, it seemed like it, too, would be a Nintendo-only title. A few delays later, and now it appears that the fantasy life sim could go where its predecessor didn’t.

On January 27, Gematsu posted a screenshot of a PlayStation Store page listing forFantasy Life i. According to the post, PlayStation quickly took down the listing the same night it appeared, which certainly makes it seem like it’s official news that someone leaked too early, possibly ahead of a formal announcement. There’s been much speculation lately around Nintendo and console exclusives coming to other systems. At leastfive Xbox games are rumored to come to the Switch 2, for example, but most of the news has focused on other platforms' exclusives coming to Nintendo hardware, not the other way around.
Fantasy Life i Could Launch on PlayStation 4 and 5 in April
The PlayStation Store screenshot mentions both a PS4 and a PS5 version ofFantasy Life i. It also narrows the release date to April 23 or 24, depending on the time zone. Previous updates had confirmed the game was coming out in April, but this is the first specific date fans have gotten. Game accessory maker Nacon has suggestedthe Switch 2 will launch between April and September 2025, so a late April date forFantasy Lifewould make sense if Level 5 and Nintendo want it to come out around the same time as the new console.
Nintendo exclusives don’t leave the company’s hardware often, but this wouldn’t be the first time it’s ever happened. ESRB ratings suggest that the once-N64 exclusiveDoom 64will get a PS5 and Xbox Series X port, andFatal Frame: Maiden of Black Waterwas originally a Wii U-only release but came to PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows later. TheProfessor Laytonseries, which are also Level 5 titles, was likewise a Nintendo exclusive at first before coming to mobile. Given that precedent, it seems reasonable that the latestFantasy Lifewould get a PlayStation release, but fans will have to wait for an official announcement to know for sure.
