Ishurais finally back with its second season, a season fans of the series have been anticipating to watch. The first season ofIshurahad its charm with the in-depth character development and complex weaving of the journey of multiple individuals into one storyline.
However, it did not extensively display the tournament that fans signed up for, leaving them with plenty of backstories and barely any action—action that the second season is most likely to deliver. As the show is currently airing, other anime would most certainly intrigue fans of this series, especially those who prefer putting off a series till it is completed.
The traditional notion of heroism that heroes are expected to be selflessly perfect in every ramification is a notion thatIshuratackles when it comes to their heroes, portraying them as flawed beings who are not always noble.Code Geassalso negates the traditional notion.
InCode Geass, several characters who are supposed heroes fighting for one cause or another always have a chink in their armor, flaws that render them imperfect. They paint them as beings that also have their respective issues, crossing lines that would not traditionally be deemed heroic for the sake of their desires or sometimes the peace of the general populace.

One wouldexpect a battle royale animeto be focused on one character with a grand dream. However,Ishurafocuses on several characters while having no main protagonist, giving them depth and backstories that leave fans divided on who to root for.
Baccano!also does not have a central protagonist. Instead, they have multiple individual storylines that intertwine into a much more complex plot. It starts out as something fans can not even grapple with, but the more they watch, the more the story all comes together in the most fascinating of ways, crossing the paths of over a dozen individuals.
WhileIshuramight not have a central protagonist, there are several characters who appear to be self-serving butare unexpectedly kind and respectfuleven to beings weaker than them, a trait that Vash the Stampede inTrigunconstantly expresses.
Vash had been branded an outlaw, always on the run from bounty hunters while being feared for his moniker, “The Humanoid Typhoon." However, he was always selfless, willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of a town that would have given him up in the first place. He tries to hide this trait of his, reluctant to reveal his true nature and acting aloof, but his heart of gold will not let him.
The main characters inIshuraare considered to be overpowered with abilities that can be compared to those of demigods and even gods, and the story revolves around their rivalry to determine the True Hero. This trope of godlike beings clashing is also present inRecord Of Ragnarok.
The decision to destroy humankind had already been unanimously voted for, but thanks to the help of a Valkyrie, they have a fighting chance, literally. They bring massively strong or cunning characters from different erasto battle the strongest godsfor a chance at survival, a tournament of historical prodigies against gods.
In the world ofIshura, different characters possess various kinds and natures of abilities that lead to chaotic and captivating fight scenes as they clash—scenes fans of the series hope to see more of in the coming season.My Hero Academiaalso makes use of this trope with its wide range of characters.
While they refer to them as quirks, theabilities in this anime are extremely diverse, from characters that can control fire and ice to ones whose sweat has explosive attributes or those who can make infinite doubles of themselves. The complexity and chaos common to both anime make them inherently similar.
The Demon King, the common enemy ofthe heroes inIshura, has already been defeated, but by whom? This unresolved issue leads heroes, who are meant to be on the same side, to a battle between each other to determine the True Hero. Although it is not to determine the worst, the criminals inHell’s Paradiseare similarly pitched against each other.
The criminals, after weeding out the weak ones, are sent to a dangerous island to find the elixir of immortality, with the promise of freedom for only one of them should they successfully return. This leads to a competition of sorts among them, putting them at each other’s throats.

In this anime, 12 characters gather every 12 years, representing the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, both in name and abilities, to fight in a desolate wasteland. This tournament is called Juuni Taisen. In a situation where only the winner is granted a wish, everyone is fighting to survive and come out on top.
Although a different kind of reward, the battle to claim the power left by the Demon King inIshurais also brutal. As expected in most battle royale anime, nearly everyone dies, and both animeportray the gory and violent scenesin ways that fans of this theme and battle royale thoroughly enjoy.
